The only reason I go is because my stylist does the best color work. I used to go to the Pearson salon and all of a sudden the management up an moved everyone into the Water Tower Kiva salon inside Macy's on the 4th floor. What a dump!. The prices are the same as the Pearson salon but the hair styling areas are cramped and noisy. Heaven forbid you have an early Saturaday appt. Mine is at 9 and I have to wait down in the main Water Tower lobby for someone to come get me and then let me into Macy's. You wind up walking through the dark store to get to the salon. Find a better option!!

I went today , and they did terrible job . The old and bald guy ( I forgot his name) "coloured" my hair. I was crying . He coloured my face, my ears, neck and cheek . Also he was yelling at me .

Unfortunately, I didn't read the reviews before sauntering into Kiva one day while shopping, shame on me! I was in Chicago for work and my down time was limited. I went in just to ask prices, which were high, but I was already there and they had an "opening" so I took it. The people were pleasant enough and I wasn't treated rudely but as I sat soaking my feet I noticed how tired and run down the place was. The nail techs were all much older women and most of the cliental were much older as well. I can honestly say this is the worst pedicure I have ever received to date and the polish application was appalling! Really, I could have done a better job myself. I was told the pedicure would include a very thorough foot massage but it didn't. The tech massaged my feet for maybe 15 seconds and literally and that was it. There were no air dryers and I was taken out to the lobby area to wait while my polish dried. The furniture was worn and stained and the floor was dirty. A complete waste of $45.00. If you come near this place and even remotely have a pedicure in mind, walk away fast!

I am *VERY* disappointed in my experience here. I was a new client, excited about my appointment, having been referred by a friend who has been going to Kiva for years. I had an appointment with Hector for 3:30pm, and arrived on-time, and was seated in small area behind the reception. I waited for more than FORTY FIVE minutes, and Hector never showed up to welcome me, or explain that he was running late. I watched other clients come and go, but no sign of Hector. I finally got tired of waiting with no acknowledgement at all from Hector, so I left. No one from Kiva spa has called to apologize, including Hector. I suppose they just don't care that they wasted my time that day, and disrespected me. I realize this is not the experience others have had, but I'm seriously shocked that a spa of this caliber would treat a customer this way? I understand that scheduling can have hiccups, but to completely disregard a customer for over 45 minutes, and then let that customer walk out of your salon without so much as an apology is just simply unbelievable.

This is my third time at Kiva and I've always had a great and relaxing experience. The staff is professional yet friendly and the rooms are warm and clean. I can't wait for my next visit to Chicago, Kiva will be my first stop.

I wanted an updo for a wedding i was going to. Got an appointment, didn't ask how much it woudl be - how much can an updo be - at most I thought, maybe $50-$60??? Anyway, after, at the cash register with everyone standing around, i was to pay $125!! I was so shocked, i didn't even ask or argue and now it makes sense that when i gave the sylist a $10 tip, he kind of gave me a glare, but i didn't know at the time it was $125! Wow, i wore that updo for the next day as well, but felt utterly sick about paying that price.

I agree with several of the other reviews and can wholeheartedly NOT recommend this place!! Easily, by far the worst experience I've ever had. I went on a recommendation from the concierge @ Sofitel (granted, it wasn't his first choice, but that place was booked). Massage was average, but the pedicure I had was the worst I've ever experienced. First of all, it took an HOUR!! I don't know what she was doing, but she was painfully slow. Then after all that, they don't have UV dryers, so she instructed me to wait in the "waiting area" (i.e. 4 chairs in an awkwardly small foyer) for 30 minutes! So I did, she oiled my nails & put a plastic bag on them and said they'd be fine. Walked 2 blocks back to the hotel and SURPRISE they were ruined. Complete waste of $40. Very sketchy crowd in there as well. There was a lovely salon right down the street across from Whitehall that I wish I had gone to instead - best pedicure I've ever had there, but I can't remember the name. Worst salon experience ever @ Kiva

STAY AWAY from Kiva Spa in Downtown Chicago. They are horribly overpriced, rude to long time customers, the spa itself is not cleaned well and the high school educated staff and management are HORRIBLY RUDE and inadequate. Their manicure, pedicure and waxing supplies are dirty and messy also!

I recently had a manicure and pedicure at Kiva. When I was taken into the "waiting room", I was shocked at how filthy it was. The upholstery was badly stained and the ladies room was disgusting. If I were not going to an event that evening, I would have walked out. The manicurist who did my services was being rude to the other manicurist in the tiny room we were in, which made me uncomfortable. She had an attitude and gave me the worst manicure and pedicure I have had. There were bumps in the polish and in two days, it was starting to come off. Terrible experience

Where to begin...when I showed up at the Pearson location, I was told my appointment was at the Macy's location next door. I arrived to have to change into my robe in a dressing room, no locker room, no spa sandals, had to walk around in my heels and carry my clothes with me. Had my facial, no extractions, then onto my massage when I was informed I had to go pay first because they were closing up the register! Paid while the staff argued with each other in front of me. Got my massage while listening to club music from Macy's with spa music trying to drown it out. The actual massage was nice, but I spent it ruminating over what to say when I went back to the Pearson location to complain. When I went back, to no surprise they informed me that they were bought by a corporation and the Macy's location is operated differently. She offered a tour of their location, no good customer service offered. Do you think I'll go back to any location?!
