We did the dumpling making activity with the Chicago Chinese Cultural Institute and had a GREAT time! We met at a restaurant in Chinatown and they had it all set up for us top come in and make dumplings and have a fabulous lunch. We learned about the tradition of making dumplings and about Chinese culture which was great. We all got to fill and make our own dumplings then eat them! They also brought out a huge lunch and it was all SO good!! Will be going back for sure.

Several weeks ago, my two friends and I booked a private walking tour of Chinatown and had Isabel as our guide. It was a wonderful experience-Isabel was very knowledgeable about the area, very patient with all our questions, and introduced us fully to Chicago's Chinese community, We enjoyed her so much, that we invited her to lunch with us at a Chinatown restaurant where we continued our conversations and had her do the ordering for us! The result was a wonderful meal and a great ending to a great tour! She is a bright, articulate young woman, and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour!

I wanted an authentic tour of Chinatown after having lived in this city for 6 years, but felt intimidated to try and go explore this section of the city on my own. The tour was a fantastic introduction to Chinese food and also included important landmarks, history, and the Buddhist Temple. April was a FANTASTIC tour leader and answered all of our questions with ease and patience. She even spent an extra hour with us taking us to look at some herbal medications that I had heard about and was interested in. She is so knowledgeable about Chinese history and Chinatown. I learned SO much; I would recommend this to anyone interested in Chinatown, their food, or just wanting a good experience of a Chicago neighborhood. You cannot go wrong (and you will not be hungry after!).

On May 27th I took the Chinatown Walking tour and it was very impressive to say the least! I was with a small group that I arranged through Goldstar. Our tour guide was very knowledgably and had some interesting stories to tell. The Chinese Catholic Church that we saw the inside was beautiful. We saw a pretty river view from Ping Tom Memorial Park. I loved seeing the Nine Dragon Wall and the Chinatown Mural. I am definitely interested in coming back to do the Dumpling-making dinner experience. I recommend this tour 100%!

If you want the real deal and a fantastic window into Chicago's vibrant Chinese community, look no further than the Chicago Chinese Cultural Institute! Knowledable, passionate, helpful and tireless are just a few words to describe their staff and commitment to client satisfaction. Couldn't recommend them more highly!

CCCI has great walks and events-really fun. The folks who run CCCI, as well as the staff, are all knowledgeable and interesting.

While lunching with friends in Chinatown, stopped in to view the historic memorabilia of Chicago's Chinatown and enjoyed reading the stories of families from this community and learning about the evolution of Chinatown.

If you're interested in Chinese culture, you can learn everything there is with CCCI. However, I miss the monthly Chopstix Club! Each month a different part of China was showcased with an authentic multicourse dinner and a lecture about the region. This would also be a great group to travel to China with.

I have taken the CCCI tour multiple times both on my own and with visiting friends and family from out of town. Chicago's Chinatown is such a fascinating place, and few people really know the history behind its beginnings. The CCCI tours are staffed with the kindest most knowledgeable tour guides a person could hope to have. If you are a Chicago native and want to learn about a historic and still bustling community in your very own backyard, absolutely take the CCCI Chinatown Tour. If you are from out of town and want to do something unique while you are in the city of Chicago, check out all Chicago's Chinatown has to offer with CCCI. Also, don't forget to ask for lunch or dinner recommendations after your tour has ended as Chinatown has some of the best food Chinese or otherwise in the City of Chicago.

The Chicago Chinese Cultural Event is one of the best events I have attended. It is gracious in the way it is organized and the way it is presented. The food is traditional and lends a real sense that you are visiting China. It is a "not to miss" event.
