Best place to park if you want to go to the Riverwalk and Millennium Park and cant walk very well.
I did not have a car for my trip. Something you might consider is parking in the outskirts of town where price is not an issue, and utilize public transportation. Pass is $5 for the day. There are train/subway stations within a block of Riverwalk and Millennium Park. Busses probably get you closer. Another suggestion is hop-on, hop-off bus tours. They have stops at both spots you are asking about.
Where is the parking
I didn't see any parking garages. If you are just staying in the city I recommend just walking. The fees at hotels to park a vehicle are ridiculous. You can pretty much walk anywhere within the city. Or you can rent a bike, this was very popular. There is also the red line that was great for during the day. I wouldn't ride at night.
Are there any decent restaurants close by?
Yes. There’s City winery, Tiny Tap and O’Brians on the Riverwalk. They aren’t fancy if that’s what looking for. On Wacker Drive the street you walk down from has Catch 35, Morton’s Steak House, McCormick and Schmick’s. Linen tablecloths and fancier for sure. There’s plenty of restaurants on the walk and above. You’ll find many more when you’re done here. Have Fun hope this heps
Is there fireworks displayed on this specific tour?
The Riverwalk is not a tour - you can go anytime you’d like. Fireworks are just off Navy Pier. You can see them from the east end of the Riverwalk , from Navy Pier or just about anywhere along the lake front during the summer on Wednesday nights at 9:30 and Saturday nights at 10:15. Enjoy!
Are restaurants dog friendly?
There are many dogs on the riverwalk, but as another commenter mentioned, not all are dog friendly. Living near here, I do recommend a couple nearby restaurants that are most definitely dog friendly. Near the West end of the Riverwalk at Lake and Wacker, you will find a new Beatrix restaurant that has a front patio that is dog friendly. However, currently it is only open for lunch and if you don't have reservations, you may have to wait until after the lunch rush. If you walk about 4-5 blocks further west, Jefferson Tap and Grill as well as Wishbone both have welcoming patios that always welcome the doggies. Wishbone even has Doggie Ice Cream. Enjoy!
where is paid parking available
I parked at a garage on Randolph St, it was just a half block from Millennium Park next to Qdoba restaurant before you get to wabash st. We paid I think about $23 and was there for several hours and they charge more after a certain time.
