Es un jardín botánico gratuito [eso es lo mejor] que tiene plantas exóticas en invernadero, otras comunes y muchas flores, estanques con mini cascaditas de agua con peces de colores y tortugas. Nada del otro mundo pero si hace frío o llueve (como a nosotros) es un muy buen plan. Llegás con la blue line, tiene una parada con su nombre justo es la puerta.

Took a quick Uber here from our hotel. The conservatory requires a reservation however we were able to just enter our email and walk right in. The different rooms were all very cool to see. The size of the Palms, and variation in plant life was a refreshing change to the actual weather outside in Chicago and our home town in Windsor Ontario Canada. The show room got our family excited for Spring to arrive we really stopped to smell the flowers. There was a cute small local owned Coffee Cart that we stopped to get Cold brews from as we walked around. The conservatory is free (accepts donations if you have the means to do so). The area itself Garfield Park is not a good area, however if you are making your way here and a fan of the show Shameless after the conservatory have your uber make a stop before heading back to your hotel or next activity to the Gallager house its about 10mins away dont stop for long but take some cool photos (Gallager & Kev & Vs house).

First of all, let me say how wonderful the Conservatory is. It is the BEST conservatory I have ever been to, and without doubt puts many of the glasshouses at Kew Gardens in London to shame. It is well maintained, both in terms of the plants themselves and how they are spaced out so that you can see everything very clearly. The signage for the plants is very good (something many gardens fail at) and the selection of plants on display is breathtaking. It was the highlight of our stay in Chicago, and we are so glad that we made it there.
Now, this is where I have to note the area where the Conservatory is situated. We were unaware on going there that Garfield is currently one of the most dangerous areas of the city - something that we had a glimpse of when we were subject to a potentially dangerous situation on the L train (Green line) that takes you to/from Conservatory to downtown Chicago. Thankfully, we left unscathed - but it could have been very different.
So, do please check out the Conservatory - it's a wonderful place. However, be mindful of the area and how you get to/from there.

Tutto funziona bene, anche se ci siamo arrivate senza la prenotazione ( obbligatoria ) abbiamo subito provveduto on line, davanti all’ingresso , la serra non è grandissima, ma interessante e il personale appassionato e molto disponibile, ci hanno raccontato volentieri quello che volevamo sapere..

The Conservatory was a wonderful way to spend the morning. The plants/landscapes were so nice to walk through. The staff was very friendly and plants were identified for easy recognition. I Highly recommend visiting for a peaceful 2 hours

Un lugar muy hermoso para fotos. Tiene vistas internas como externas. Buen lugar para ir en pareja o con los hijos. Fue muy educativo. Tanto la entrada como el estacionamiento es gratis.

As a tourist, this place is somewhat off the beaten path but, it is well work the trek. Each room is filled with abundant greenery and calming sounds of nature, that make it feel as if you have stepped into a different world. The conservatory is a veritable treasure in a concrete jungle!

We visited in April and were surprised at how beautiful and big it is.
Each environment is different and well cared for.
It’s s an activity to do with young children.
You can book from the web or at the entrance. Pay a small contribution fee.
It is strategically located near the green line station. It also has a free parking lot if you decide to arrive by car.

Frankly we went to see how the Chihuly glass art was woven in after learning about an installation there after seeing an exhibit in St. Petersburg Fl. We were sad to see only one in a lily pond, and the other plants seemed rather limited inside and out.

We parked in the lot down the hill from the Conservatory. It was free, and plentiful, although we were there on a weekday.

In a rather large park which has some safety issues but the area immediately surrounding conservatory is supervised well. I never saw a restaurant in the area and if you are in the Chicago loop the L train stops right in front of the place giving an additional plus to security! Otherwise I recommend go from your hotel to site in a cab! It is an exceptional place!
