每年六月，芝加哥都将在备受喜爱的格林公园内举行为期三天的芝加哥蓝调音乐节，此为这座城市夏季最重要的活动之一。 这一节日原本是为了纪念蓝调音乐界的传奇人物 Muddy Waters 而设立，逐渐发展成为世界上规模最大的自由蓝调音乐节。 音乐节共设有五个舞台，功成名就的艺术家和前途无量的艺术新人都将在此进行表演。 曾经参加过音乐节的表演者包括 Chuck Berry、Keith Richards 及 John Lee Hooker，每年的音乐节都会为蓝调音乐爱好者们带来一些惊喜。

The Chicago Blues Festival is awesome! Been there a couple times in recent years. From the small stage to the main stage, the variety of musical acts--from local to national acts and some internationally known performers--playing and singing the blues is terrific. Situated in Millenium Park in the heart of downtown Chicago...and is free to attent, this festival is not to be missed. Sitting on the grass or in the theatre in the Pritzker Pavilion listening to music while surrounded by fresh air, skyscrapers, and city traffic is the bomb! Make your plans to attend next year! And squeeze in a visit to the Art Institute or the Chicago Cultural Center, both just across the street. Food and drink vendors on site. Lots of parking nearby.

Great venue for outstanding and varied blues programming. Our favorite was the Mississippi Blues Juke Joint stage (there were 3 stages going on thru the weekend). Super diverse and mutually respectful audience. One oddity was the State of Mississippi tourism tent---really? As if life in Mississippi had a positive correlation with the blues musicians who LEFT there to go to Chicago, Detroit, and St. Louis!

Millenium Park is a beautiful place to listen to live music. I went on Friday night, it wasn’t super crowded, the lines for food and drink we’re short. It was a fabulous evening out!

A great experience with a wide variety of blues musicians. Entry into the park through security was quick on Thursday and Friday. Plenty of places to hang out and listen to the music.

We walked through the Festival this year. It was very busy. We use to attend years ago - it has grown. The music is always good.

I went to Japan for my 50th birthday and met a couple at a bar in Tokyo. They ended being musicians and played at that bar frequently. We ended up talking music for hours until I mentioned “ Chicago has a (3) day Blues Festival” They could not believe that for (3) days with 5-6 stages they played Blues music for almost 12 hours each day. By the time I left Japan I had an email that send “ we booked our tickets to Chicago”. We have gone now for 3 years straight and have met people from New Zealand and France to Blues fans from all over the USA.
This is an absolute must trip to make if you are a Blues fan. An absolutely must......oh did I mention the Festival is free? Yes you read that right.....FREE😬

We enjoyed the Chicago Blues Festival. Free entertainment simultaneously on multiple stage and great people made the experience a lot of fun. We met people from all over the USA and several other countries.

The Chicago Blues Festival has six musical stages, and the music was fantastic. While the music started playing at 11:00AM, i was a bit disappointed that it ended at 9:00pm.

This festival was so well organized with multiple music venues going on. I felt totally safe with the security at the gate, and the presence of security throughout the venue. There was plenty of food and drink available at reasonable prices. People bring chairs and blankets to sit in some of the venues. Most venues offered chairs for those that wanted to sit up close. Well done!

I'm planning to drive from Pittsburgh to Chicago this weekend for the blues festival, and am wondering about seating options. Do we need to bring camp chairs, or is it all lawn seating with blankets? I'm just trying to figure out the logistics of bringing a chair. Thank you in advance.
