Do Not Go. This festival needs a complete overhaul. Too many people crammed into too small an area. People stopped in the middle of the only available walk way to eat in groups because there isn't enough seating. The prohibited list is a joke and only enforced sometimes. Don't think you'll get in any faster without a bag because security is too stupid to separate and enforce which line is for which individuals. I am glad I went so I can say I will never go back to this ill organized mess of a festival.

I ordered their shipped specialty pizza. Horrible is mildly stating the experience. $95 for two absolutely disgusting “deep dish” pizzas. DO NOT BUY THIS PIZZA.

Received spoiled deep dish pizza as a gift. It arrived while I was out of town and box didn't alert doormen to refrigeration needs. Customer service blew me off. Not a good choice for gift-giving.

The best food there was Harold's Fried Chicken, Robinson's ribs are overrated,ribs was salty ,the peach cobbler from BJ's also overated,it was dry, Connie's Pizza super thick deep dish crust,for the price , this pizza overated too,sparingly toppings .all in all I will not be attending next year.and will go to Harold's Fried Chicken restaurant moving forward, Harold's Fried Chicken gets 5 ,🌟's .

Again. I am reminded why I don’t like Taste of Chicago! Long Long Lines for food like an hour plus ! No!
I stood for 45 minutes for baggage check , this I can tolerate, but 30 minutes for the bathroom. Again No! Take a Pass!

Chicago is it!!!!!!!! Apart from the drama at the airport going and coming, this had to do with airport shuttle issues but I will be going back to Chicago at least twice next year! This is really a city that makes sense when you want to vacate. The taste of Chicago is on my top list of food fest I have been even though it was a free event to get it and long lines and what not, it was really well organized and fun to see all kinds of people come out and have fun! Lots of great food and wonderful sights!!!!!! I definitely will be making frequent visits to this marvelous city!!!!!

I have always wanted to go to the Taste of Chicago and planned a trip with my friend in July. We decided to go on Saturday and made a point to get there at 10:50 am so we could eat early to eat lunch. Boy are we glad we did and the weather was great although there was no real shade. The security line was not bad at this time, maybe 5 min wait. It also made it easy to eat at the popular vendors, Harold's Chicken (wings great), Robinsons rib (boneless rib sandwich/awful tasteless patty- McRIb is better than this), Porkchop(barely any brisket on nachos for $12/skip this place if they come back) Seoul Taco (beef taco great), Chicago Dog House (tried snake/interesting), Esperenza Delights (mango cup and Elote was interesting) and think BJ Market had the catfish bites, Billy Goat Tavern (half cheeseborger) which was decent for $4. If you want nachos with Italian beef go to Billy Goat's Tavern. From what we could tell, there was only 1 vendor selling water, gatorade which didn't make sense. We brought a water from our hotel and glad we did.
The reason for the 4 stars is they only had 30 total food vendors and was expecting more so not sure if this was due to 1st year coming back. For Chicago, they only had 1 hot dog vendor from what we could tell which was a surprise. Eli Cheesecake was celebrating 42 years and had a 1000 lb cheesecake which they gave away for free. I had the chocolate chip. This was a nice way to end our lunch.
We saw the people in line when we left and I saw the reviews and they were right. We felt bad for them in the long security lines since it looked like it would take at least 60-90 min to get through and then turn around and stand in hour long lines at popular vendors (hopefully they did not run out of food).
I would not make a point to go again, but glad I was able to try it at least once. If you like state fairs, this may be a better option. I'm glad the Taste is free, it was good they offered taste prices ($3-$12 dependent on vendor) since they stop doing tickets or I may have been disappointed if I had to pay to get in.

I strongly recommend NOT to attend this event. The lines to get in through the security checkpoints were outrageous- talking 2-3 hours for some. In fact, multiple people fainted during this ordeal. It doesn’t get much better inside. The lines are way too long, the vendors much too few, and there is virtually no place to sit or take cover from the sun. One of the most poorly run events that you will experience anywhere.

Long entry lines, no shaded area or water available for people. Multiple people fainted while waiting in line. Not worth the wait in my opinion.

Go back to original size. Small food selections. Security took longer to get thru the event. Not worth rhe trip.
