Although the winery is currently closed to the public, we were able to rent out the entire property for our wedding this past weekend. We knew that the cabins were still open to the public and we had always loved rustle hill and thought it would make the most beautiful wedding venue. We emailed the owner, JP Russell, and asked if it would be possible to rent the winery AND the cabins for the weekend of our wedding and he agreed! He went above and beyond to make the winery the most beautiful that I ever remember seeing it for our special day, and our stay at the cabins was fantastic and more than we could have ever hoped for. They were clean, fully functional, and beautiful! I would recommend this place over anywhere for a special event!!!! I would give 10 stars if I could!

We have enjoyed stopping at Rustle Hill Winery as part of our Shawnee Hills Wine Trail adventures. We have consumed many glasses of wine over several years. Last weekend we pulled up to a closed building. There is a posted sign advising the winery is for sale, referring to a website. It seems some of the cabins on site were occupied and they may still be available for rental.

We visited the Rustle Hill Winery and had terrible service. We tried to order at the bar and were told to find a place to sit and wait for a waitress. After several minutes a waitress never came to us, so we returned to the bar to try to order. They told us to continue waiting for a waitress. Eventually a waitress arrived and took our order. She then spent the rest of our visit hanging out with her friends who were visiting the winery. She even had us take a picture of her and her friends on one of their phones. The wine was pretty average, nothing special.

This winery has delicious sangria! The landscape is so pretty. This is the perfect spot to sit and relax. A must go!

The grounds are lovely and the winery looks nice on first glance. However, the more time we spent, the less we enjoyed ourselves. It was a beautiful Friday afternoon on a holiday weekend, but they only had two ladies to cover serving lunch and the wine tastings. The food was average, though my father said the bread on his chicken pesto sandwich was very dry. The wine tasting was very rushed and the woman pouring didn't even have rudimentary knowledge of how the wine was made. She was so frantic to get through the tasting (presumably to get back to waiting tables), she hardly poured enough wine to taste (eyeballing it, I'd guess maybe a tablespoon per varietal) and spilled wine all over the bar. We also had some safety concerns about the construction of the building, which did not appear to be built to standard code. The wine itself tasted fine for the region (this isn't Napa after all), the food was average and reasonably priced, but the overall experience left much to be desired for a place that clearly is trying to look like a serious winery.

We enjoyed our wine tasting and decided to stay for a late lunch. The menu is limited and is doesn't have a lot of choices. My boyfriend had the burger and said it was fine. I had the shrimp tacos and thought they were good, just lacked guacamole and some additional spice. If we were there during lunch or dinner again, we would probably pass and find another hidden gem.

Had a great time at the winery with my sister and cousin. Staff were very nice and knowledge about wine. About 15min from town. I grew up in Carbondale, so it is nice to see the little treasures that are around here as an adult! I will definitely be back when I return to visit.

This winery has a huge outdoor as well as indoor seating area. A stage for live music and great sangria. The location is what is key for this winery however. A short drive down Highway 51 with no complicated directions.
