I'm from the area, so I enjoyed visiting. There are good displays of local farming, mining and military history. It's a nice building and air conditioned. There are things for young children to enjoy.

We had an amazing tour of museum and thoroughly enjoyed seeing everything.

I was late so I didn't get inside but I was so happy to learn about this place from the signage located outside. There were enough info to get my interest. So I googled on my phone the whole story about this place. I learned that Lincoln was speaking from the balcony of this historic building (the main museum building as actually next door). I got very interested and now I am thinking about getting back here as soon as I can so I can get inside to learn and see more.

Just in town for the day, we couldn't spend a lot of time here but carved out about an hour. Loved exploring this museum! From the quilts, fossils, rocks, coal mine, penny farthing bike, baseball case, to the Lincoln law office, Civil War drums, photography and cameras, and special World War I feature. Just WOW! Worth every dollar and more even without the tour of the house next door where Lincoln gave his impromptu balcony speech! (They do have a photo tour notebook so it feels like you still saw inside.)

Great stop if you like history! This is a Lincoln sight! He stayed in the house when he was a lawyer and making his rounds on his circuit. It is beautifully maintained and the house steps you back to the 1860's . Part of the newer addition to the museum which is located behind the house offers a wide selection of information on the areas history which is very interesting. This is one of the better small Museums I have visited. Something for everyone!
