Beautiful Jacobean mansion with stunning grounds. It’s worth joining a tour around the house so you appreciate it and get to know a bit of its history. The RAF museum onsite is definitely worth a visit. Cafes was spotless & excellent value. I can also recommend the second hand bookshop.

Visited Blicking Hall today a beautiful place. I am a National trust member . One thing that I had an issues with and seem to time and time again come up against is having a dog. I am an extremely responsible dog owner and my dog is extremely well behaved. I totally at all times put my dog on a lead when it is ground nesting bird season and when there is livestock in fields. Today on approaching the lake area i was told by a man to put my dog on the lead although my dog was near to me. When i questioned why his response was there are people fishing in the lake. I informed this man that my dog will not go near or in the lake. That is a total new one on me fishing in the lake. I understand restrictions are in place but this is not a validated reason. It seems more and more signs are in place for dogs, being disabled my dog being off the lead is better for me rather than having to juggle walking sticks and holding a dog. I had my dog before i was unable to walk and it is nice for him to have freedom like everyone else. Just thought very over the top for dogs on leads policy does put people of going as most dogs are part of the family.

Enjoyed our visit. Magnificent views. Informative staff. Anne Boleyn born here, mother of Queen Elizabeth 1. Much changed over the centuries. You just have to accept it as it is. Visited The Bucks Arms PH afterwards. All good.

A very enjoyable visit. All the staff were friendly & informative.
Spectacular Hall, so much to take in.
We also visited The RAF Oulton Museum, very touching.

We parked up early as it was so hot and took the dog on an early walk. Cafe, shop, exhibition & parkland great. Decided not to visit the house as it was just too hot to take it in turns because we had the dog. We wasn’t really sure why dogs were not allowed in the gardens like they are at Nunnington Hall - they were no better. Will visit again when it’s cooler and take in the house.

What a lovely place to visit, the gardens are fantastic and well kept. The house itself is gorgeous and very well kept. The volunteers are very helpful and informative. It is a place well worth a visit and worth having another visit another day.

Probably the best Jacobean mansion we have visited. It is absolutely beautiful and so well cared for. Would have loved to hear more about the history of Boleyn family. I will be doing a bit more research on this. There is a statue of Ann Boleyn and her daughter Queen Elizabeth 1. Ann Boleyn's statue is very unusual -clothing not as expected. Would love to have got closer to it. Portrait of Henry V111 is what you would expect. Garden's are absolutely fabulous. Well worth a visit

Splendid Jacobean buildings with imposing approach to the house. Was built on the site of moated Tudor house. The moat is now drained and contains flower beds. The paintings’ tapestries, furnishings and Chinese ceramics were very interesting. There is a tie up with Hever Castle both were owned by the Boleyn family. The staff were most helpful and well informed with useful information. There is a lift within the building for people with walking difficulties. The RAF museum above the shop/cafe building was not only well presented but most thought provoking with many personal memorabilia and accounts. The grounds were quite extensive and the gardens well maintained. Children could just help themselves to games and sports equipment provided on the lawn behind the house. The car park is about 10 minutes slow walk to the house. Definitely would well recommend a visit for the whole family.

Had a great day and spent over 5 hours at Blickling. We hired bikes and a trailer (suggest get there for 9:40 to be first in line of hiring as it can take a while to get through the process and paperwork) and went around the estate stopping for lunch near the Mausoleum. We are used to the cycle trail at Ickworth Park and we all think Blickling isn’t as good as Ickworth but it’s still enjoyable. It’s quite hilly in places and the multi use trail is quite narrow in places, and with the cat parks on the other side of the estate you get a lot of loose dogs on the trail which can be problematic to avoid. We’re a little saddle sore (not the most comfortable waffles) but the kit was in good condition. We then returned our bikes after two hours, went and watched a play on Lady Constance and the Big Stink which was really good, and then went around the house and gardens. Good fun with great weather.

Yes, but it’s free for National Trust members ( you need to scan your membership card at the ticket machine, I think )

Be very careful should you visit that you don’t stand on it and crush it as it is an historical building and it would be a terrible shame for it to be destroyed. . . tread carefully!

Hi.
As it is a National Trust property, it would be best to check their site. There are different prices for different areas and people. The house was lovely, but the weather was poor so I didn't see much of the grounds.

You can walk dogs in the park but not in the house or gardens. The park is great for dogs but I think they have to be kept on leads due to livestock. There are lots of long walks around the park and lake. There is a dog friendly cafe near the car park, although I think you have to sit in the rear room if you have a dog... lots of dogs and their walkers enjoy Blickling estate.

As you can see from other replies there is a lot of uncertainty about breakfasts at Blickling. I think this is because it is seasonal and the opening times change. I would suggest giving them a call 01263 738030 - hope this helps.
