Yorktown mall is a well kept shopping area. The stores are ranged from inexpensive to higher end like Von Maur. The food court has good food and reasonably priced. They do need a few more anchor stores in Yorktown

The Maple Street Chapel was built in 1870 and looks much the same today. It is a wonderful venue for concerts. Once per month in the winter, modern folk music concerts are held there on Saturday nights. The ticket prices are very reasonable at $15 to $20. The accoustics (with modern speakers, amplifiers, etc.) are excellent, and the ambiance is very fine.

The chapel is a classic example of American Gothic architecture, with board-and-batten construction and a 100' steeple. The interior is especially beautiful, completely finished in beaded board on walls and ceiling. The windows are Grisaille style (stenciled design). Check out the web site MapleStreetChapel.Org for pictures, and look for dates it is open for tours, and ring the bell which once summoned the fire department. A great setting for a wedding!

A very old and ornate chapel, with wooded walls and ceilings, you could feel the history emanating from every corner.

This church was built in the 1870's and is used for acoustic concerts. There is a preservation society that puts together the concerts to raise money for the chapel. Beautiful inside and outside!

This church is so regal and has a great history in Lombard. It is located by Helen Plum Library, a great place to relax and find all reading matter. The historical locations are all located in this area for one to enjoy, as well.
