This is a beautiful winery just like you see in Napa Valley. Great out door seating and patio too.
You just have to envision some corn field as grape vines. But it is close and 90% of the California experience with out leaving home.
The wines are very good blends, and food was excellent too.
An adventure trip, perfect in these virus times.

Our first visit to Acquaviva Winery was a great. This is a lovely facility in the rural area of Northern Illinois. We were very impressed with the local wines which they serve. The food is excellent and made to order. We were very pleased and will return soon. Our server, Irma, was lovely, helpful and really earned her generous tip. When we return, we will request Irma!

My husband and I were celebrating our first anniversary after having our son so the prep that went into the night probably sets the tone. We went to the website to look at the menu to streamline our time, called to make a reservation but didn’t get an answer decided (there was a start of a voicemail messaged and to be honest should have listen to all of it) since timing was sensitive for us anyways we decided to just go, when we arrived there was a banner that said closed for private event. We then decided to go to the restaurant in Sycamore again calling with no answer (no voicemail on this number), when we arrived there was a handwritten note on the door that said, “ closed for family vacation”. I went back and listened to the original voicemail and it was like listening to movie theater showings...Monday we are closed Tuesday we are closed Wednesday we are open from —-to — ...Friday and Saturday we are closed for a private event. I listened again this week and the same set up. In general it seems if its summer and wedding season DON’T plan on getting to eat here and don’t even bother going if you don’t get an answer. Honestly its the setting we were going for, the wine is drinkable and the food can be hit or miss and the food quality is different at the small restaurant in Sycamore.

Holly our wine tasting guide was SO helpful, knowledgeable, and spot on when it came to presenting the perfect wines for our tasting. My son was in town from California. He and I found the winery in Maple Park beautiful, relaxing, and a fun find. I am not a red wine fan, but Holly S. presented us with just the right one. I purchased 3 varieties for my home. I also sent two bottles to our son in Texas, and two for my son to receive on his arrival home to California. Holly MADE our visit memorable and welcoming. I'll be back!

This Italian Restaurant has really excellent food. I could see they had a large bar area; but I do not drink so I cannot comment about their drink selection. I was told they have other locations and one where they make drinks from what they grow at that location. The food I enjoyed; but on a Saturday the noise level is more than what I would like, I was taking a special lady out and I hoped for less noise. M-y l;lady friend had been there before, and she said it was quieter at lunch time. My waitress was very helpful.

A few friends and I went here for the wine tasting, and our host, Vito, was so awesome! He made the experience fun, taking the time to really engage us in the process, and we got to know a lot more about the wines and the winery as we did so. Ordered the meat & cheese platter to share with a glass out on the patio, and what a lovely atmosphere! It was a beautiful day, with beautiful scenery, the building itself is amazing, we had a great waitress, and just such a pleasant experience. I would highly recommend visiting!

I have been to the one in Sycamore, three different times. They are understaffed each time. Takes 20 minutes to get a drink. Takes 1/2 hour to get a check. Their unlimited appetizer are either cold, when they should be warm, or there are empty platters.

Set between corn fields in DeKalb county is a little taste of Tuscany. An expansive white bricked building greets you, inside is a beautiful tasting room and restaurant build of dark woods and exposed brick. A small rotunda with colorful murals lies just inside the front door. Just beyond is the stylish tasting bar. A pizza making area is to the right, where flaming ovens and tossing pies abound. The food is wonderfully Italian. The wines, of course are born onsite and are delicious. The Frontenac and Prairie Star were personal favorites. Vineyards are behind the building as well as across the street. Be sure to visit the Market in the basement of a house about 100 yards away. Wine and everything to do with wine are for sale. For serious wine drinkers this place is a must.

We had the pleasure of dining here while visiting friends in the area. A beautiful site with the vineyards in the nearby fields.
We shared the Vongole Al Forno which were excellent and Calamari which we all thought could have been cooked some more. All of us really enjoyed our selections, which included Whitefish, Gnocchi, Orecchiette, and Vitello Sorrentino.
We were stuffed after that so we passed on deserts.
The staff was attentive and very friendly. They were handling a group of 25+ at the same time so it could have been easy to lose sight of us, but they didn't.
The wine list is limited, but had a good selection of wines that they grow on sight. We enjoyed our selections.
A definite place to try if you're in the area.
