Highly recommend visiting. Good food, live music at times, plenty of excellent food/wine options & tastings. Definitely a hidden secret in the St Louis Metro area and a great place to rent a banquet hall style room and/or wedding or holiday party. Owners and Staff definitely are very friendly and understand the wine industry.
On a side note... definitely should try their pizza.

The winery has changed ownership and is now called Bella Vista. We were married here 10 years ago when it was Villa Marie. Ownership has changed and the food and service are markedly improved. Not that it was bad previously...the experience now is a bit more elevated. I would say the wine is similar, but the food is drastically better. We recently visited for lunch for our 10 year anniversary. We did a wine tasting. If you like the typically sweet Missouri and Illinois wines you will be in heaven here. Though, there are 4 nice dry reds that can keep you happy if you typically like California wines better. We ate the sampler platter (toasted mushroom ravioli, oyster rice balls, fried zucchini), turkey melt, chicken parm sandwich and bella italia salad. Everyone loved their food. The winery was recently purchased and needs a bit of care from having been closed for over a year. The structure on the island needs to be refurbished and some little things around the property. I'm sure the new owners will continue to fix things and make upgrades. There is a really nice, larger firepit by the lake that would be a wonderful place to relax. I'd love to see more outside seating here in the spring!

Used a groupon to try this winery. Pleasantly surprised. Wine was good, and reasonably priced compare to other wineries. Good deal with the groupon. It included an appetizer, which was tasty and good size portion. Villa Marie has a very nice covered deck in back. Lucky enough to go on a very nice day weather wise, which added to the experience outside. Not as far from St. Louis compared to the wineries in Herman and Augusta. Take a chance and try it.

I'm great place with good food and local wines. My understanding it is now closed.

My friends and I hold an annual Mother's Day winery trip and visited Villa Marie! The wine was divine. The food was delicious and the scenery was lovely. We had a bus with about 50 people and the staff was friendly and very accommodating. Everyone had a blast and we will be going back this Mother's Day.

We stopped by Villa Marie Winery Saturday afternoon for a glass of wine & ended up eating lunch there as well. I had the chicken salad on croissant, mom had the smaller burger & Don the half-pound burger. We all had fries (choice of that or chips or with a $2 upgrade to a salad). My chicken salad came on two small croissants & was made with grapes and pecans - delicious and more than enough to eat. Both burgers got rave reviews as well. None of us could finish our fries - too much food - but the fries were excellent. The wines here were also good. Visitors can choose from Illini or Villa Marie labels and everything we tasted was good. Tastings are $2 for three samples so three tastings & three glasses of wine was $24. A little pricy but reasonable. Service was good even though there were several large groups. Venue is very pretty & we've enjoyed wine on the deck previously but not this time. Good visit - we'll come back. One caveat - Villa Marie is a popular spot for weddings and special events so that can be an issue at times. Note - the kitchen closes at 8 pm except Sunday then it's 6 pm.

Service needs some work... the ground on the outside was scenic and relaxing, just inviting for a glass of wine or 2. The inside could use some updating. Wine selection was great. Not sure how much the regular tasting costs cause I did a groupon deal. The building look spacious enough to house many types of events.

Spent the afternoon at Villa Marie Winery with a couple of dear friends. It’s such a beautiful place and so relaxing. The appetizers were delicious and went well with our wine. Stephanie took great care of us and was very pleasant and helpful in assisting us in our wine selections. Villa Marie is always a fun place to enjoy with family and friends and so close to home!

Beautiful view, good wine and food! Very reasonable prices. Nice staff. What more could you ask for. I love to eat lunch or dinner here. Everything I’ve eaten here was very good. Beautiful place to have a wedding or special event. The owner, Judy, is a very nice lady too
