One problem that we struck was that there was only one flashlight for the whole group. There needs to be a flashlight for all of the group members.

The staff was extremely accommodating and was helpful in explaining what was going on. We we were welcomed as we walked in.
We did this with teen leaders who had a great time and it was the exact right level for them.

The Houdini Room was excellent! We enjoyed the setting, story, and having a live actor in the room as our guide. Well thought out, well-executed, and a LOT of fun! My teenage son can’t stop talking about it! A gem hidden in the near north suburbs of Chicagoan. Found it on Groupon.

“Terminal” is the 6th escape room I’ve done and it was a doosey! I set this up as a teambuilding event for 8 colleagues and everyone had a great time. Only 1 other person had done an escape room, so it was probably harder than what I should have picked for mostly first-timers but the theme fit our group best. There were many independent puzzles, so you could split the team up to work on different things. The space was large and divided, so with 8 adults running around you weren’t stepping over each other, which was very nice! Hints were provided as needed and were just enough of a nudge to get you going when you got stuck. The manager was very friendly and helpful for the group. He was very responsible to my emails as I was getting it set up.
Some had trouble finding the place (look for sandwich boards to point you in the right direction off Austin Ave). I suggest checking out the Google Map street view so you have a better idea where to turn; parking and the building entrance are actually off a side street (Madison Ct) which is more like a wide alley running alongside the building. Even though we were a little late, the owner let us have our full hour since we were the last team of the day.
It was so much fun. Even though we didn’t solve all of the puzzles, the last clues were explained and we were very close to escaping the room. I will definitely be back to try another room at this location. Their attention to detail and the amount of work they put in to create an incredibly realistic setting was awesome. You really felt you were in the story.

We tried this with a GroupOn coupon and had a fun time. Our family of five (including adult kids) were paired with another family of five. We'd booked the Houdini Room and it was quite a complicated solution. But with a bit of subtle help from "Bess," we solved the problem with time to spare. It was a fun way to spend some time with the family.

Compared to other escape rooms, this one did not have too much diversity in terms of the types of puzzles. Some of the equipment did not work well.

Was really fun but was overall it would have been better if it wasn't so difficult. I was with a biochemist and an engineer and even they had trouble figuring out the clues. Needless to say we did not escape. The zombie added a lot of fun. I just wish the whole thing was a little bit easier.

We went with a group of about 8-10 for a bday. No matter how much you know the people you're with, it's a ton of fun. It's challenging, efficient and definitely gets the adrenaline going. A good change of scenery from a movie and dinner. We went to Pequod's directly after to top off the night! You can't lose with a night like that!

The manager, Brian, kindly invited us to return to try the Houdini room after a couple of mishaps during our first visit for Terminal. This room was really different from any others we’ve done and very impressive. We weren’t sure how we’d feel about having an actor in the room with us, but it was fun and also nice to know there is someone who is fully engaged with what you’re doing and how you’re progressing. We ended up finishing with around 10 minutes left. Both rooms we’ve done here include very unique puzzle elements and great scenic design. Some members of my group are not interested in the zombie theme, but if they open up a fourth room we will definitely return.

We went the Great Room Escape as a work outing with about 10 people. Lots of fun and laughter. Pretty hard to solve the escape puzzle but they did give hints if asked along the way.
