If you're into roadside attractions, you have to check out the Leaning Tower of Niles. I wanted to see it since I saw people's posts of the site on social media. The Leaning Tower of Niles is easy to find. You can park nearby for free off street while you visit the site. There is no fee to take in the Tower. It is in a nice park area in a fairly safe neighborhood of Niles. You can get up close for all your photo ops. It is a really a cool site and may tide you over until you visit Pisa.

Driving down the street we did a double-take when we saw what looked to be an exact replica of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and that is exactly what it was! It's free with free parking, and is a fun photo opportunity if in the mood.

If it is not out of your way too much, it is worth stopping by this place. It is in the city of Niles. You are not allowed to climb the tower. Entrance and car parking are free. So, enjoy! You do not need more than 30mins to see this attraction.

I recently visited the Leaning Tower of the Nile and it was truly a wonderful experience. The architecture of the tower is breathtaking and the history behind it is fascinating.
I can highly recommend the Leaning Tower of the Nile to anyone It really is a gem not to be missed while visiting the beautiful Nile.

Well it's a leaning tower... looks just as crazy in person as it does in pictures. There's TONS of free parking, but nothing else to do there besides look at the tower. There's a nice little park there... you could sit and contemplate it. It's totally safe and empty there. Take your photos and head over to Barnaby's for some real Chicago tavern style (thin) pizza.

If you happen to be on the road in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, as we did in December, you might stop in the Village of Niles, and have a proper look at the Leaning Tower of Niles. Niles is famous for it.
You can see this relatively small tower -- torre non molto alta -- very easily from W Touhy Avenue. The area looks peaceful, the parking's on site and easy. Walk around the 94ft. tall leaning tower, read some interesting historic facts on the plaques, take many photos, and may be ... think of Italy?
I have been to Italy several times, but not in Pisa.
In Niles, Illinois this 90+ year old Leaning Tower of Niles (built in 1931--1934) still looks rather young (after several repairs and renovations), it looks fit, it looks great. Think about it: it tilts only 7,4 ft in the direction of Touhy Avenue! Seriously, it looks so cool, that you might want to see the real one -- grande vecchio -- across the ocean.
The great power of architecture art ...
After all, it's only 4,647 miles from Niles, Illinois to Pisa, Italy.

Several areas to park up close if you pay attention. Areas to set and enjoy lunch if you would like. It gives you a little history as well. The structure is awesome and easy to walk around. We went early in the morning and spent time taking photos, etc without any interruptions. You can get photos without other buildings in them, too. We enjoyed it but would have liked to go up around it and see the sights but, that's okay.

We were looking for some roadside stops in Illinois as we drove through. This is interesting…. Kind of oddly in like a shopping center parking lot. Felt like it took away some of the enjoyment to be in a spot like that. It’s impressively large.

It is a good visit on a boring Sunday afternoon. We went as a family, took some pics, hung out and had lunch at the nearby Cafe.
It is really a cool place. Great to combine with northern suburb visit or go to the Bahi temple or go to Devon avenue or northern beaches. Can also go down to the city - Chicago from here. It made for a good drive during covid and we needed something do to.
