Daughter and I stopped here as we were passing through the Funks Grove area during our weekend Route 66 trip. We thought that this location was more of a tourist stop, but it's mostly a small shop were you can buy maple sirup (and some other things).
Cashier working the shop at the time was very welcoming and polite. We were able to try a small sample of their maple sirup (which was tasty and sweet) before buying a bottle of our own. Prices are reasonable for pure, locally made maple sirup.
Worth stopping to visit and get some maple sirup of your own, but it's not as much of an attraction as many of the other nearby Route 66 places tend to be.

Small batch, excellent syrup in a woodsy setting right off of Route 66. Nice relaxing stop that you should try. It's worth a stop.

The worst thing on my trip was being lost. I found Funks Grove and it was wonderful to find people who got my bearing corrected. HOWEVER I found wonderful people who not only have FANTASTIC maple syrup and all things of every yummy you would want (expecially if you get lost). But a fantastic people who put me in the right direction to home and by the way has super stuff to buy and eat. Maple Syrup, yummmmmmmy. Thank You all so much for everything.!!

My Husband thought this was a tourist place with stuff to do. Its a small shop along route 66 where you can buy syrup. It has a place you can sit if you want.

We arrived quite late but found the owner just ready to leave for the day however, he kindly offered to open up for 10 minutes so we could purchase some maple syrup. Thank you so much for the kind gesture x

On our most recent Route 66 excursion, the 2019 version of sirup was purchased for 8 different relatives that anxiously awaited for us to return so they could eat their waffles for brunch and top it with this liquid gold.
Being on a keto diet, we can no longer consume it, but our relatives that would drink this sirup if they could get enough, say it is without a doubt the best sirup, better than Canandian or Vermont brands.
And, of course, what sets this mom and pop locations apart from others is the fact that they are friendly and genuine.
You don't have to visit them in person; you can order it online too.

Delightful place to visit. We were there on the last day of them making maple sirip. People working were friendly and happy to explain the process. The shop not only has maple sirip (which is delicious), plus route 66 gifts. Don't forget to buy some of the maple sugar candy - it just melts in your mouth.

First off, I never knew that Illinois had a commercial maple tree farm. I also had no idea that this tree farm actually produces maple sirup. I know; that spelling looks wrong but that's what all of their signs say and there's even a printed story about why they spell sirup with an "i" rather than a "y"
We arrived a bit late in the day to see the sirup-making price process, but they still did a nice job at explaining how it all works, with a mini tour.
My wife and I purchased some sirup to take home and it's considerably tastier than store-bought brands.
