There are a number of walks available from the interpretive centre ranging from 20 minutes to three hours. We opted for walk two on the direction signage Sentier de Bras-David (or Maison de la Foret on map) which is a loop walk, the first half is uphill and there is an optional 25 minute detour to Casade Corossol, a total of 90 minutes with the detour. The walk is described as ‘easy ‘mainly because most of the more difficult terrain has been made less difficult through the construction of wooden walkways, steps or small bridges, however care is still needed particularly on the downward return which mainly involves weaving you way through lots of tree roots. It was raining at the time of our visit making the path quite slippery/muddy in places, meaning good footwear is essential and in places, walking poles are a benefit.
We found the rain forest to be denser that we saw in Dominica and at times you appeared to be totally immersed in the jungle. There is nothing in the way of viewpoints but we found the walk to be enjoyable and interesting. The cascade detour did not lead to anything very worthwhile, the visible cascade is little more than a collection of boulders with water weaving its way through although on the riverbank, it made for a good picnic spot.
The interpretive centre was closed at the time of our visit. Admission is free.
This is worth a visit if in the area.

Le petit sentier de 10-15min est vraiment sympa à faire en pleine forêt avec quelques arbres identifiés et un abris en chemin dans le cas ou il pleuvrait

Randonnées agréables au cœur du parc national de Guadeloupe au départ de la maison de la forêt. A faire sans hésitation.

Good intro to the diversity of plant life in the rain forest. Optional longer hike which we thought we might come back for later in our stay. A fairly easy walk, it was very wet, and fortunately we had the right footwear. This is not a "cute sandals" kind of walk, the trail is well maintained but if it has recently rained your feet will get wet. As we are mainly anglophone it was challenging to understand all the guide info but that was not unexpected as of course this is a French Island. Staff in the interpretive centre were friendly and helpful.

Balade de 30 minutes fait avec un bébé en écharpe de portage. Balade très agréable et apaisante. Parking avec peu de places, il faut venir tôt ou avoir de la chance. Je vous conseille d'aller faire un tour à la cascade des écrevisses et terminer par la brasserie artisanale de la lézarde.

Das Haus ist klein, die Ausstellung eher überschaubar. Warum also fünf Punkte? Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr nett. Entscheidend sind die unterschiedlich langen Spaziergänge, die vom Haus durch den Regenwald führen und den Regenwald erfahrbar machen. Die Wege sind nicht barrierefrei.

We drove to Maison de la Fôret to do the walk along Trace des Ruisseaux (path of the roots). Parking is free and there is really lovely picnic area away from the road by the river. There are various little huts with tables, so there’s plenty of shade when it’s super hot. The walking route was listed as easy (facile), which it is in terms of duration and inclines, etc. However, as the name suggests, there are a lot of tree roots, so you have to be very careful where you put your feet and it can get very muddy where water collects around the roots. Be prepared to have to clean your trainers at the end! However, would highly recommend doing it as it is so wonderful to be in the rainforest, which is just teeming with life and beauty. The sounds are incredible, as are all the trees, vines, flowers and other plants. It feels like being in another world. Absolutely wonderful!

When we parked, the last parking spot, we were near water and shelters. There were boulders there.
Then we went to the Maison de la Forest (The House of the forest).
When we entered, it was psoters about plants, animals, trees and way more.
We were able to go for a walk. We had to go over the wooden bridge and we followed the trail, which was muddy. We ended at the first point where we parked.
Still, I like what I Iearned with all these posters.
Worthwhile to see!
