What a treat - a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours. The displays are amazing, and the staff super friendly. We are definitely planning a return visit!

This place is amazing! My sister and I took our 86 year old mom, who has advanced dementia, and we were all enthralled. She said over and over that she wants to come back the next time we visit. Well worth the nominal admission fee.

Incredible collection. Top artists in the world shown. Fun scavenger hunt . The miniature shop is one of the few in Indiana.Definately worth a visit

For 2 decades, I have wanted to visit this museum and am I ever delighted that I finally did.
The collections and self-paced narration are well beyond what I expected. I especially appreciated the back stories of the various houses.
The museum is a 501c, so if the heirs lack the room and/or affection for Aunt Helen’s treasured miniatures, or Mimi’s Beacon Hill dollhouse, donations are tax deductible.

This place has so many things to see... Took my Mother who uses a walker, and it's handicap accessible, but some tight corners, so be aware.
Give yourself at least 2 hours! Definitely a must stop in Carmel!

If you have any interest in scale miniatures, this is a great collection. It's not a large museum, so doesn't take long to see everything. Some beautiful artisan treasures and dollhouses for young and old alike.

Gonna call BS on the hours. The website said they were open. The sign on the door said they should be open. They were not open.

Took our 9yo daughter and 11yo son and were pleasantly surprised! Seronia greeted us at the door and gave the kids a scavenger hunt sheet which helped them really dig into the displays (although they missed quite a bit in rooms where they found the items quickly - a “difficult” hunt may be ideal for older kids).
After we spent an hour or so looking through the collection, we spent time speaking with Seronia again about classes and techniques in miniatures and even got to see some of her handiwork. Our daughter is now supposedly saving up for the next 9 years to go to the classes in Maine (must be 18 to attend) 😂 and hopes to replace her Barbies with miniatures, now. Our son really enjoyed himself, too, as it definitely wasn’t just dolls.
Will definitely visit again!

It was quite unexpected to find this little jewel of a museum in a small house on Main St. in Carmel, IN. Each room is filled with miniature houses decorated with dolls & furniture of the period. Such time & love put into each piece. We especially liked the Sherlock Holmes room.

I heard that you do scavenger hunts ir treasure hunts, basically giving a list of things to find to make it more fun for younger kids, is this true?

Yes. We have two types: for Younger Explorers (up to 5 years old) and Older Explorers (meant to be read on their own, although accompanying adult often does it with them. Answers are on the sheets so there is no pressure. Everyone gets a prize for filling one out. Adults often request to do it themselves. Scavenger hunts are updated to be always relevant to what is on display.

Do you accept donations? I have a collection of miniature furniture, approximately 19 rooms which my aunt started collecting in 1939.
It is 1" to 1 foot scale. I am looking for a permanent home for my collection which is housed in a special cabinet which I had built . It is
a beautiful collection and I would love to find a new home for it before the Lord calls me home, and someplace where others, especially
will enjoy it. It is in excellent condition. If you accept donations, do you come and pick it up and transport t. I am unable to do that
but would gladly help you to pack it. I have pieces from all over the world. i.e. Mexico, India, Paris.
