NEVER again
2020年3月
So glad this place was shut down. Absolute abuse and mis-care was done to each of their animals out of sight to the public. Terrible conditions for each of the animals were there to see if you were paying attention. Long list of complaints and alerts about their entire operation are on file and were sent numerous times in the few years this tourist trap was open. Place was closed in 2015.

They closed about a year ago, from what what was reported, it was a terrible place for the animals. Hopefully the animals are better in their new home.

Visited after they closed in September 2015
2015年9月 • 商务型
Our visit was to remove some of the remaining animals, at their request. We were happy to give Africa, a 3-year-old lioness, a new home after learning she was injured while still a young cub, allegedly during public "pay to play" encounters. Her apparent back injury leaves her unstable on her feet and, quite possibly, in constant pain. She was terribly emaciated when we met her, and later confirmed to be infested with roundworms.

It is so sad to see so many "great!" comments for places like this that are driven to exploit animals, breed and acquire more, then put them into small cages on concrete once they're too large to be safe/profitable. We assume Africa's injury is the only reason she wasn't bred, which was the intent cited by many sources.

Conditions for animals here had declined dramatically in recent years.

Please don't "pay to play". Visit a true sanctuary or an AZA accredited zoo, and keep your hands off of wild animals.

Interesting but troubling
2015年6月 • 家庭
The ranch is an interesting place to visit, but we left with some concerns about how the animals are caged and don't have the appropriate habitats. The owner seemed knowledgeable, but we felt there should be someone with professional training to oversee the various exotic animals. We were especially troubled by a bear cub pacing back and forth in a 6X10 foot cage.

This place does not care about there animals. That's all they see is dollar signs. How can you let 100 people feed cub tigers. Don't they see how stressed they are by people touching them. Then you have a poor monkey that eats popcorn all day and lays in the corner with a belly ache. Water low in all cages. This is just a roadside zoo that should be shut down.

Pretty neat place!

We (my husband and I) visited the first day this place was open after they were closed for the winter. Upon arriving in the gift shop there was a box with 3 young bear cubs! We were able to hold them! We played with them and held them until they fell asleep. Then they took us on a tour and we got to touch 2 tigers and a lioness, a turkey, goats and elk. It was a walking tour as they no longer have the tractor ride. Then we went back in and held the bear cubs again. The price of admission was worth that alone. Most of the staff was very friendly and knowledgable.

Nice adventure for a day
Never even knew this place existed until the other day. We went down with my husband , my daughter and our grandson. The staff is very knowledgable and helpful. You can tell they do this for the animals, not to make a huge amount of money. Price is a little steep but I know it goes right back into the farm. It's in a really great area , lots of places to walk. It's sad a lot of the cages and pens were empty. They have downsized quite a bit. Although I hated to see the tigers in cages, they were a decent size , they were clean and well cared for. The 3 potbelly pigs were adorable. My grandson loved the monkeys. We also got to pet the baby tiger cub. Couldn't hold her tho, was too old now. Saw a couple of wolves which was really cool. Like I said, everything was clean and animals looked well cared for. The little girl who gave us a tour was so cute. It was a nice day.

Great for big "kids" or little kids!

We live near this and go often. When they get baby animals you can pay to meet the baby animals and hold them sometimes to! Take buns you can feed the goats, they will give you food for llamas & deer.

Great hidden gem!
2013年9月 • 好友
Stapps Ranch is a great hidden gem. Lions and tigers and bears - oh my! The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. The tractor and wagon ride was a treat you don't have an opportunity to take these days. Animals were well taken care of and it's a much more personal experience than a zoo. Nikki, Aaron and Brice were great hosts and I would recommend this for young and old. In addition to the above listed animals there were bison, water buffalo, doll sheep, camel, llamas, elk, goats, pot belly pig, monkey, various exotic birds and I'm sure more I've failed to list. Its on my list to return to-so if you enjoy an up close animal experience this is for you. Thanks to all the staff and volunteers who make this possible.
Carpe diem!

Not for me.
2013年6月 • 家庭
This was a frightening experience for me. Some of the animals are behind cheap chicken wire like fencing and begin to running toward guests. It is only a matter of time before somebody gets hurt. The bears are caged up with no room roam. These animals belong at a zoo or somewhere they can be properly taken care of. It was not fun for me, it was sad.
