Lovely day out

We stopped here for lunch, the menu is good and our meal was lovely, we sat outside watching the ducks on the pond. Had a walk around the craft shops, lots of ideas for presents.

Superb food

I visited with friends, not for the first time, and we had lunch and a good mooch afterwards. The food in the restaurant was superb, I had the chicken,ham,leek pie and it was SO tasty. Everytning is always so well presented, and the staff are friendly, efficient and caring (carrying my tray to the table as I was on crutches). We went back later for cuppa+ cake...what a choice! I love this place

A good evening but the puds weren’t quite as good as a normal restaurant day

A warm welcome and the starters were delicious. Service was good and atmosphere relaxed and upbeat. The cheeseboard at the end was excellent. The puddings were fine but not the cold ones were not generally to the standard (or appearance) of the ones served in the normal restaurant. The amazing banoffee pie and lemon meringue were absent. The cheesecake was a bit gelatinous. Overall, however, it was a nice evening. HOT TIP: choose your hot puddings first - this way a cold one afterwards is welcomely refreshing. If you eat the cold ones first and get a bit full, the thought of a warm, stodgy pud is not so good.

Plenty to see here.

A nice place to visit with lots of craft workshops, an antiques centre, gift shop, cafe and gardens. Good sized carpark.
Cannot comment on the cafe other than it was very busy, so assume quite popular.
Quite a few workshops were shut on our visit, but that probably wouldn’t be the case at a weekend.
Nice for a wander around.

Ancient Barn & Buildings

A pleasant Saturday afternoon visit with family. There are about 10 craft stalls which were very interesting to visit and watch skilled people demonstrating their skills such as the glass blowers, Potters and a chocolatier.

I bought a glass garden ornament ( Fox ) which is now in my garden. The friendliness of staff is excellent, no pushy sales people, you can just browse or ask questions.

It’s been many years since we were here, but I won’t wait so long until I visit again.

Car parking is free.

Attractive Setting

The café is located in one of the collection of farm buildings that make up a craft centre. We very much enjoyed a coffee sitting outside on a mild autumn day with a great view of the grounds and the surrounding countryside. It is worth a visit if you’re passing, the garden outside is the best part. Don’t expect barista style coffee.

Nice to have a walk around

We were on our way home from Avoncroft museum when we came upon this lovely craft centre.

Lots of individual shops selling everything from chocolates to jewellery, from a butcher to garden gnomes, from plants to gifts, really lovely unusual things to see, my hubby bought me a really unusual silver handmade bracelet.

Plenty of parking and a nice place to wander around for an hour or two

Limited vegetation, no vegan options

Disappointed by the limited vegetarian options which were all cheese based and no vegan savoury options at all. The cakes were delicious and there were two vegan cakes. Shocked that tap water was charged (50p) I have honestly never come across this before!!!

Puddings night

We visited this cafe/restaurant for a Puddings evening. This has been on my bucket list for ages. What a fantastic evening. We had a savoury starter and then four plates of individual puddings. Two cold plates and two hot dishes. All the puddings were delicious but my favourite was the lemon and pistachio Bakewell tart. After all this we were then given a large plate full of different cheeses with crackers and all the accompaniments. To take home we were given lovely bags with biscuits in them. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. A very well organised evening which I would fully tecommend

Price increase food decrease!

Very disappointed with everything, usually I praise this place but on this occasion I just can’t, we were seated and waited for one of the four people serving to take our order, the restaurant wasn’t very busy so I can’t understand the long wait on everything, we had the salmon which usually comes with an array of veg it came with just peas and the portions were very skimpy compared to usual, we were still hungry after so decided on a pudding, they have taken off the two course deal which I know they are trying to make money but need to remember it’s one of the things that bring people back to the restaurant, we asked two people to order two puddings and they brushed us off we waited 10 mins before we ordered, no sorry or apology, they were pretty rude, not sure if I will return!
