Enjoy the views, take in the scenery. Order take out from upstairs at the Overlook and bring it down to Walters for more variety.

There on a Friday night with a larger group, 9 total. Waitress gave problems of moving two tables together, only two other tables full. Then at 830pm, brought us our tabs with out asking. No last call, no we're closing early, just here are your checks. We all ordered drinks and dinner, so approximately $125 worth in the group. Would have stayed for another drink, but certainly didn't feel welcome. Seems if your not very local, you money just isn't appreciated there. Too bad, was a fun place for years.

After a day of cave touring, and a little outdoor adventures, we were hot and hungry. Of course, we decided to hit the well-known restaurant with the most beautiful view of the bend in the Ohio. The Overlook is the original place that still provides great food and a beautiful afternoon, however, SURPRISE!! Only recently has WALTER’S PUB become SUCH a fantastic part of that structure, with a multi-level deck off the back of the building, comfy tables & chairs with large umbrellas to give some respite from the sun, stunning views seen from the outdoors, and sweet breezes coming in off the river! THIS is what outdoor dining is about! Walter’s doesn’t have a huge, convoluted menu… Flatbread & regular crust pizzas, and a couple of sandwiches! That’s it! Perfect! Who needs to look over a million choices??? Not us! And the beer.. COLD! Refreshing! We had a couple of pitchers, dined on some DELICIOUS pizza, shared with some friends, and took in the beauty of our historic Southern Indiana… what a PERFECT way to end the day! Seriously… make the trip. It’s worth it! *you KNOW you wanna*…

Stooped to eat, found this gem around the side of my 55 minute wait. Bartender Lauren very personable, and fun. Decided to turn our wait into lunch at the pub. Flathead spinach artichoke Alfredo was tasty. My husband enjoyed the cod. Definitely on my places to come back to list.

Located beneath The Overlook Restaurant, Walter's Pub is great for a drink while waiting for a table or a place to wet you whistle after a car or motorcycle ride in the country. They have a large bar with an assortment of foreign and domestic beers on tap. They also have wine and cocktails or other liquid refreshment. There are wide windows for a great view down on the Ohio River below.
