So this past weekend my wife and I went to the Bob Ross Experience. We figured it would be a fun little trip from Indianapolis and we both are big fans of Bob Ross. Well I think my expectations were so high when we arrived my bubble got busted. You walk in and a greeter ask for your ticket time and name. He then says on the right side is a living room of what it would have been like to watch Bob Ross at home. On the left side is where they recorded his show. It's about the size of a medium sized living room. Upstairs are some of his photos and art class which is separate. That's it. That's the whole tour. The paintings and his set were the highlights. Was it worth $15.00 per person. No. Would I drive 1 1/2 hours to see it again. No. But at least I can say I went and saw some of his paintings.

Love the Saturday Farmer's Market. Lots of variety in vendor selection. Friendly environment- Pet friendly. The Orchard Shop is amazing as well.

Really enjoy that they recreated Bob Ross's Joy of Painting that was filmed on property for most of its seasons. Also, they do a wonderful job at Christmas time in decorating and caring for the Ball Brothers/Family homes.

There are so many fun and interactive things to do. The blue building blocks are always fun! Outdoors is just as fun! Definitely a kid friendly place.

Minnetrista is area which was formerly the residences of the Ball families of Ball canning. As described above, it now is forty acres of museums, trails, and nature areas. I visited for the Bob Ross experience and a painting. Currently a timed admission is required for the Bob Ross experience. This is located in the L. L. Ball house which is where Ross recorded the Joy of Painting. Upstairs, there is a gallery of Ross paintings and a classroom for workshops. The current price for a non-local adult is $15. Local adults can purchase tickets for $8. This admission also includes all other buildings and exhibits. Currently in the Oakhurst home are quilt blocks inspired by Bob Ross. The competition was in 2019 and all entrants used the same color palate. The center building has exhibits that change periodically. There is also an area which recognizes Ball employees with many years of service. There are many activities and workshops that you can schedule. I painted a Bob Ross painting taught by a Bob Ross certified instructor. These usually sell out so book early.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The facilities are well cared for and family friendly. Such a great place. When I was there many people were taking prom pictures because of the lovely flowers

Bob Ross Exhibit and Bob Ross Quilt Exhibit!!! Loved seeing where Bib filmed and taking a deep dive into the making of the show and the brand. Bob was a compassionate visionary, who applied mindfulness before it was a thing. Must See!!

We came for the Bob Ross Experience and checked out the place after. The houses that were open to exploring were beautiful. The gift shop was full of very nice items. I can only imagine how beautiful the gardens on campus are in the summer.

Came for the two Bob Ross exhibits they had at the time. The one that was where his studio used to be is small, but pretty neat. The second exhibit (which they said was getting ready to be taken down) had a lot more of his artwork. The staff was friendly at all the Bob Ross stuff, but a staff member at the main building at the first desk was not so nice.

My sister and I just toured the arts center, gardens, and Ball family mansions. They were all magnificent. Beautiful, well-maintained gardens, and grounds. We were especially interested in the Bob Ross studio where he filmed his television series. The docents were friendly, and well informed.
Later Friday night we participated in a three hour Bob Ross painting class conducted by a certified instructor ( Ted) who had come from Michigan to teach the class. Everything was provided, and we had a blast. You need not be an experienced painter to do this, have fun, and be successful, all at the same time.

Was ok liked the farmers market. Gardens looked great. But too pricey to do museums for us. Drove by historic homes which look pretty.
