Last week I went to Muncie to see a friend visiting from Turkmenistan. She suggested we meet at the Museum and I agreed. I have a Master's in Art History and love going to museums of any size. I checked the website beforehand, but when I arrived I was absolutely stunned. It was FAR more than I could have expected. The range and depth of the collections was staggering. No "showstoppers" but a more than solid collection of significant pieces (a small bronze of Lincoln by Daniel Chester French, who sculpted the monumental one in Washington; several sculptures by Paul Manship, who did the Prometheus at Rockefeller Center, etc). An encyclopedic view of American landscape painting. The collections of Asian and Oceanic Art are larger and more significant than I've Ever seen in a museum of this size. It compares more than favorably with any College Art Museum I've ever seen, and it's better in the size and depth of its collection than several civic and private Art Museums I've been to. For a city like Muncie, this is indeed a Treasure.

I've been to museums around the world, and this one could hold its own against any one of the greats! Handicap accessible, and you'll need at least 1.5/2 hours...go and enjoy!

Like everything else in Muncie it under performs. Big fish in a little pond feel. Parking is terrible. The building is beautiful but the staff is rude. Generally unwelcoming atmosphere.

My experience at DOMA was incredible. The tour guides and staff are very well versed in the art that they are talking about, and are very good at answering questions and having artistic conversations with the patrons. I went there on an educational trip, and ended up bonding with my friend, now fiancé, over our love of art, and that’s when we fell in love. Perfect for a date with somebody who appreciates art and history!!

This art museum is a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life. There are lots of paintings, sculptures and artifacts.. plus rotating exhibits. What amazes me most is that it is free. I've been to many museums that charge that are not this good. The volunteers are friendly and helpful. I always try bringing out of town guests here. And they're equally wowed.

An amazing collection of Asian, French, and American art, paintings, sculptures, and artifacts! Worth visiting to see different centuries' art collections collected by David Owsley who has graciously loaned and given many of the artifacts to Ball State University. A great way to spend a leisure afternoon!

This 'little' art museum was actually pretty big with a rather large number of items. What a surprise. A terrific art museum on a small campus. I recommend it as the best spot to visit in Muncie

This is a fantastic little museum with an extensive art collection. Right in Ball State University campus, simply walk the campus before or after your visit to add to the serenity of the day. Because it is smaller than many other museums I find the staff more attentive when I need further explanation of a piece or have a question.

This is a great art museum located in Muncie, IN on the campus of Ball State University. It's wonderful to see a campus art museum open to the public. The cost is free and it's a great place to visit when the weather outside is not cooperating. Took my kids here and they really enjoyed walking around checking out the art. Great opportunity to expose them to the arts.

Was greatly surprised with the breath and depth of this art gallery collection. While there were not many "famous" artists displayed there was an excellent t cross section of many genre's available for those who simply love art. I highly recommend it and will visit many times now that I have been there.
