This little museum was recently opened by Larry and Karen Cornwall in their backyard, and is full of memorabilia from Bristow's history. One important part of that history is the Father of the Modern Day Hot-Air Balloon, Ed Yost, a Bristow native.
The museum features a balloon basket built by Yost and his wife, and the Jan Boesman Memorial Trophy, which Yost won at the Gordon Bennett Balloon Race. Also on display is an Art Medal Neil Armstrong gave to Yost.
The couple were long-time friends of Yost, and are happy to tell stories about him while providing tours of the museum.
There are many items from Bristow's history, including shelving from the old grocery store and a cabinet from the drug store.
The museum is open by appointment or by chance.

I was wondering if you have records of who lived their in the 1800's. My great grandma was born their in 1899.
The owner is my mother...i can and her tomorrow when I stop in
