Tijdens een wandeling gestopt om een broodje met koffie to go te scoren. Koffie was heerlijk en de broodjes waren heerlijk en vers. Mooie uitgebreide kaart met speciale broodjes die je niet overal op menukaarten tegenkomt.

De botanische tuin staat, zoals het hoort, vol met exotische bloemen en planten. Jammer is dat het de wat rommelig geheel geeft. Ondanks het harde werken aan de vele aanwezige vrijwilligers is de tuin wat onoverzichtelijk. Leuk om een keer door heen te wandelen en de verschillende flora te bekijken.

We're not planning to visit this botanic garden but walking along the river side. Well, as the water was a bit high, we didn't get down and at that moment we saw the sign of Jochumhof. It's located at the corner of the street, along the river. We did take a look, entered the gate but didn't get inside the garden. You can park your car nearby

Wat een cadeautje om hier te zitten. Gezellig geborreld met een heerlijk hapje erbij. Oesters aan de Maas in het zonnetje. Kan niet mooier voor ons.

Upon entry the jochemhof doesn't look all that appealing and interesting. The shrubbery right at the entrance looked relatively common. We walked past the beehive, which was nice, and through too the main area of this botanical garden. And how lovely that was!
It is divided into sections, dedicated to different plants and regions. The rose garden, the hydrangeas and the wild flowers next to the river were absolutely gorgeous and very picturesque. Also, we loved the green house, in which they sell various plants. Every thing is very well maintained and they have a big variety of plants. Aside from the ones mentioned above, you'll also find bamboo, a Japanese garden and a herb garden.
At the back of the lot and along the Riverside, you'll find multiple seating areas and a restaurant. This establishment also has a little vintage store. The atmosphere here is lovely, especially on a summer's day with a little breeze. The staff was very attentive and we loved the apple and lemon vlaai.
There isn't a ticket booth but they have a postal box in which you are to donate some money. Entry is 3 euros each. Very reasonably priced, if you ask me.
It is a great place to explore and to relax. Would definitely recommend going here if you're in Steyl.

Je geniet er van de vele verschillenden planten en het gezellige restaurant. Daarbij is het uitzicht prachtig.

We zijn hier geweest met onze baby van 6 maanden. We wilden graag naar de tuinen met de wandelwagen maar dit bleek niet zo handig te zijn omdat het veel grind paadjes zijn. Gelukkig hadden we ook de draagzak mee. Nadat we die hadden om gedaan hebben we de tuinen bezocht. De tuinen zijn vooral leuk om te bezichtigen als je ook verstand hebt van bloemen en planten (zoals mijn man) Als niet plantenkenner mis je soms een beetje informatie over een plant of bloem. Desalniettemin is het mooi aangelegd en wordt het goed onderhouden door vrijwilligers. Na een bezoek aan de tuin hebben we nog geluncht op het terrasje bij de tuinen. Er is een hele kleine lunchkaart met weinig keuze maar de broodjes die wij hadden gekozen waren erg lekker en goed verzorgd. Het personeel was ook buitengewoon vriendelijk. Het uitje naar de Jochumhof hebben we gecombineerd met een bezoek aan het Missiemuseum.

3€ kostet der Eintritt in diesen schönen, alten botanischen Garten. Teilweise hat man Ausblick auf die Maas. Gepflegte Wege und ein Kakteenhaus, Bänke, kleine Kunstwerke, Weiher und Restaurants, ein schöner, ruhiger Ort an dem man die Seele baumeln lassen kann.

Het restaurant is Ma-Wo wisselend open (vraag via info@jochumhof.nl), Do-Zo van 11-17 uur. De botanische tuin is vaak wel open (ook al staat er bij de ingang iets anders). Wij liepen gewoon erdoor... Er wordt een kleine bijdrage gevraagd (o.a. te betalen in het restaurant).
