This facility, housed in the old City Library, is a national treasure. Our guide was wonderful and we learned so much about the world food/agriculture mission and its founders. What a gorgeous space and it’s fitting that such an important organization can call it home. Well worth a visit.

Very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. Learned quite a bit about the World Food Prize and Norman Borlaug. Took about 35 minutes. Beautiful gardens outside. Recommend.

This building has been rehabbed and the decor kept to I believe the original time period. Have been to several events at the building, it's well kept gardens and building are a great venue.

If you are near or in Des Moines, don't miss this wonderful place. It's a combination of museum, active educational center, community, state and national gathering place to honor the World Food Prize Laureates and the creators of all that honors agriculture! The interior of the old Des Moines Public Library has been transformed and remodeled into a beautiful building that makes us all proud. The docents we had on the main floor and upper floor were so informed and eager to tell the story. Don't miss taking time for this wonderful place.

These guys are focused on feeding the world! The agricultural processes that we rely on here in Iowa are not sustainable for keeping the world fed. These guys are way out there on determining how to accomplish this. Their mission is going to become more and more important as a result of global warming. Worth the vist.

I was very impressed with the WORLD FOOD PRIZE HALL of LAUREATES. This is now located in the old Des Moines Public Library.
I was here on a Tuesday and took a tour. Our guide, Ms. Grabow was friendly and very informative.
PLEASE take your time and find out about IOWAN, NORMAN BORLAUG who won the Nobel Peace prize.
The restoration of this remarkable landmark was done with care and attention to detail.
IOWA has been a WORLD wide leader in agriculture and the leaders from around the world that have visited IOWA is outstanding.

This building is beautiful, even to the untrained architectural eye. My favorite place were the gardens outside- beautifully landscaped with lots of plant variety. And the gardens are a great place to practice photography
It is a quick visit unless you're here for an event as there isn't a lot of information around and not much to do.

We were here for a reception in the hall and one of the spacious rooms. Atmosphere is ok, but there was not that much to see/do

This was once the Des Moines Public Library but has been renovated into a shrine for the late Norman Borlaug and other agricultural scientists whose work have literally saved billions from starvation. The decor is simply unbelievable, with gorgeous woodwork, stained glass windows and murals painted by WPA artists. But the message of global aid and engagement is the most important facet of the building. Recommended for all ages, from grade school student to retirees. Nothing like it anywhere else in the world.
