Relaxing and good exercise on the half-mile walking path through native Kansas trees, shrubs and flowers. The pond is a favorite to feed turtles and fish, and a great place to take the kids.

It's a native prairie area with walking trails that are paved and gravel. It has several information signs talking about the ecosystem. There is a pond filled with turtles to enjoy. It's great for a lazy stroll or a workout. Great for photography. They have a couple buildings you can rent and you can rent the grounds for weddings. Also have a little shop.

I really love this little spot. This is out in Hesston KS. Just a little pond with alot of pretty flowers and trees. There is a walk path that circles around it and I have walked many of steps on it. They have a couple of places to sit and visit or rest if needed.
This is a good place to regroup mentally and appreciate your blessings.Feed the turtles,watch the butterflie show on the flowers. Also you can go into the little building center and ask questions or buy some cool yard decorations. If you go just remember to say a little prayer,leave the stress and enjoy a quiet time. :]

It was 98 degrees the day we went so while we did go out and feed the fish and look at the turtles, we mainly stayed on the path, which is in shade. I wondered if maybe the areas around the building could use weeding. I'll have to come back in fall, when the prairie grasses are tall and colorful, to see if what I thought was weeds was in fact flowers. Either way, Hubby and I enjoyed our time here and would like to return.

You can walk around the arboretum and enjoy the native plants, but before you leave you have to feed the fish and turtles. My family takes our moldy bread and feeds the fish in the pond. There are some very large carp that surface to feed along with several red-eared turtles and two very large alligator snapping turtles.

I visited with a plant lover, and we enjoyed it, although I felt that they could have used more signage (labeling species especially). We went in early spring and not much was blooming yet, so make sure to time your visit for the right season.
