We had a group of 4, the service was terrible, when we asked our server for drinks she acted inconvenienced and extremely rude and she only got worse from there. The food was sub par and way overpriced for what it was. Will not be back to this establishment.

It takes a LOT to get me to leave a bad review, especially in a town like Indy where there are practically no options. I’m always willing to give places the benefit of the doubt, and I can overlook some things to a certain extent, but Uncle Jack’s managed to start off on a bad note and just kept making things worse the longer we were there.
My teenage daughter and I arrived in the early evening for dinner after a long, hot day, and we were starving. They didn’t appear to be too terribly busy, but busy enough for a Saturday. They had a live musician playing, who was quite good, but loud. The hostess asked if it was OK if she seated us at a small two-top table directly in front of the speaker, something that was not OK since the music was pretty loud and we wanted to talk. There were a few six-top tables open, and she had to ask permission from someone in the back to seat us at one of them. Begrudgingly, she did. We put in our drink and appetizer orders and as we waited, a booth opened up. We suggested to our server that we could move there to free up the bigger table. Before we could move, the hostess sat a larger party (of four) at the booth, so we settled in and ordered our food. Almost immediately after we ordered, the hostess returned and “asked” us if we would move to their “island” table at the bar— basically a free-standing bar table. (I say “asked because the way she began picking up things from our table implied that we didn’t have much of a choice.) We were exhausted and didn’t really know of any place else to go, but at this point, I was ready to just walk.
I wish we had.
We moved to the bar “island” table facing the TVs right next to the kitchen and bathroom. Yay. I love sitting by the bathrooms! Our apps came out, lukewarm at best. Food came out a while later. My daughter had a burger that was marginally good, and not hot. I had the chicken pasta which was awful. The chicken was bland, the pasta was heat-lamp scalding hot, and the pasta sauce was pooling with oil and/or grease. Our server was sweet, but the hostess—the first impression and lasting thorn in our experience—was horrible. We should’ve just left and gone ANYWHERE else. To add insult to injury, it was pretty expensive for what it was. A mediocre burger, terrible pasta, and an appetizer better taste much better than that for what they charge.
Like I said, I hate leaving a bad review, especially for a locally-owned place in a small town like Indy where there’s nothing going on, and it’s killing me to leave this one. But I kept giving this place the benefit of the doubt, and they kept proving they didn’t deserve it. This may be a great “bar,” but the “grill” leaves a lot to be desired. The single star is a gift, bestowed simply because zero stars isn’t an option.

Out of four meals, only the fried catfish was good. Ceaser salad dressing weird. French onion soup only strong broth with a blob of bread.

We went by Uncle Jack's Bar & Grill after a long day of the 100 mile garage sales. Great place to go in and have a drink and just relax. We did not eat but many people there were eating and the food looked good. The service was friendly.

We went to Uncle Jacks on a recommendation and really enjoyed our meal. Since they're known for their burgers, we each ordered one - but we ordered French fries, the Q fries and the homemade potato chips. I preferred the homemade chips - fresh and crispy! A great meal at a great price.

Too loud for the server to hear your order and possibly get it right. Got a loaded baked potato I didn't order and got charged for it. Didn't get my salad. Noise was unbearable. Food was very good but outrageously overpriced.

We love the food at Uncle Jack's. We usually stick to the nightly special. Live music is also provided & it's always been a talented musician.

Jacks has Very Good food. window seats are drafty in winter. Taste vr. Price.. this is not for the average person. I see people that frequent Jacks with fancy clothes & you know they have money. So its a place to avoid if you are on a budget unless its your "Special" night out. But yes the food is Very Good!

It gets loud and packed during this week long celebration. We had to wait on food but that's understandable. Lots of TV's
