A nice place to stop and chat or have a party. Crancer's has gone more to the party scene than the very nice bar that it can be. Single or gala event it is a nice location. Service on the one on one could certainly be improved.

I cannot comment on the affordability of this venue because I was only an attendee, but some friends of mine had a promotion party here and I really enjoyed it. They had catered appetizers on a table in our section of the venue and beer available from the bar. I am fairly certain you can customize the food and drink options.
From what I understand, there were three parties going on simultaneously in the building. One was on the ground floor near the main entrance and there were at least two parties going on the second floor. There was a "main section" with the bar as you went up the stairs and a separate room in the back that our hosts had reserved.

I have been to a wedding here, and another event. This is an old Montgomery ward store that has been converted into a venue, and also has a bar in it. The building and decor are really cool, and they do a beautiful job decorating for weddings. I would highly recommend this place if you need to rent a venue in the area.

The venue is beautiful, very cool building and server was very friendly. However don't waste your time going to the bar upstairs unless there's a planned event/live music etc. We stopped in and had one drink on a random evening and it was a ghost town...not even background music. Very weird. We had one beer in silence and left.

I had my wedding here June of last year and I could say better things. Kat is the owner and catering and everything was amazing. She was so informative with timeliness, layout, cake, dj, and all things you don't know to ask with your wedding since it's your first! We didn't want to pay for a wedding coordinator and we didn't need to since she helped me do it and save the money. Very helpful when she didn't have to since just booked for the catering!
With tbat, the food was awesome!! We did a tasting at her restaurant and she showed up options in our budget but we also talked about things outside our budget to see what it cost. We were right at the price we wanted. Then what we got! Delish! We did the florentine sauce on the chicken. So creamy and good. Then the braised boneless beef short ribs YUM! beef heaven! Simple good sauce on it which with the mashes potatoes. So good! They use French green beans which is nice and it seems good quality stuff. My favorite thing was it still looked pretty! Not a pile of shredded beef on a plate. Still like a steak but tender.
The space was gorgeous! They do need an elevator, but Kat tells you about the access and try to help if she can. Beautiful hardwood floors. 1st floor is great open space to setup your wedding. And the 2nd floor is a cool lounge that seems like you went to new York or something.
We did my friends wedding there this September and it reminded me to post a review.

We hosted my daughter’s wedding reception there last year. The venue was great but the caterer, who also supervises the location, was horrible. We had a great tasting at the owner’s restaurant months in advance and selected a menu. On the night of the wedding, I decided to eat last to see how the buffet was at the end. When I got there, they were very low on entrees, the meat selection was nowhere near what we ordered, and they had run out of vegetables. The caterer promised a 10% overage of what we gave for our final number, and 10 people did not show, yet they ran out of vegetables and the entrees were slim pickings. During the tasting, we agreed to a shredded beef short rib, but on the night of the reception, she served some kind of sliced beef (low quality) that was dry, which matched the chicken which was dry (when I mentioned this to the caterer, she said this was her interpretation; what a load!). The delicious green beans we had at the tasting were replaced by plain ole canned beans (I looked at other’s plates because I didn’t get any) but when they ran out, they couldn’t open a can. As part of the deal, the bride and groom were to be given a couple food boxes to take with them but since they had run out of food, they got leftovers from another event that looked so bad, they threw them away (limo through the dive thru!). The meal was a big disappointment. We had agreed to the types of liquor and beer for the bar, but the caterer put out cheaper product then what we had agreed to. The caterer also was horrible at managing the event. When there was a giant line at the bar initially, I solved the problem; the caterer was nowhere to be found. During a visit, we were promised an elevator or lift would be in place for our wheelchair guests; it was not so at the wedding. The venue is very nice but the caterer is a poor professional, the food was not good, and the service was bad. If you can get the venue, do so but do not, under any circumstance, use the caterer.

We attended a wedding there as the bottom floor is a large open area perfect for events. The inside is lovely with the old decor set up. The owner is very friendly and she is also a caterer but the food she provided was very bad. The bar area upstairs is open every night and is very nice and quiet but the atmosphere is boring there is no TV for sports and no music playing it is just a bar and chairs. Nice if you are just wanting to set and chat with your friends. There is no kitchen to get food for while there. If you use the venue I would recommend not using the caterer just get the venue.
