This place is pretty popular - too much so some times. i've seen it nearly shoulder-to-shoulder. And, some times it smells pretty bad, from dead fish left laying around. But that said, I've rarely been here and not caught fish. Usually just a couple basic crappie jigs, and I've caught largemouth bass (aren't even supposed to be there), drum (some folks hate eating them, but soak in saltwater overnight and they're quite tasty), crappie, carp, walleye, saugeye, white bass, and some times the place is loaded with huge gar - the other day they were trying to jump up the water fall like salmon moving upstream in the northwest. The other day I caught 20 crappie in an hour, and it's not even spawning season. One caution - when outflows from Tuttle Creek exceed about 5000 or so CFS, be very careful, as it can wash over the walkway with tremendous power. More than one person has drowned here. At flows of 1000 to 3 or 4000, great fishing.

Great fishing for all kinds of fish. Have caught everything from Big flatheads to a rainbow trout. Right after the water drops low is a great time to fish.

An excellent fishing area with local historic background. Located B4 the Big Blue River connects to Tuttle Creek River Pond area. Catch Walley, Catfish, Bass, Crappie and Perch fish and is popular amongst the local fisherman and bow hunters. Highly recommended fishing spot.

We only went to the dam and fishing area, so I don't know about the rest of the grounds. There were 20+ people there, and you could easily see the fish jumping around on this side of the dam. We went to see the waterfall (dam), and it was nice, but the area smelled like dead fish because there were several lying around and some people had left the guts sitting out on the ground after cleaning their fish.

This is a fun spot that may have cost me a good chunk off my GPA as a student at K-State. I loved fishing here - sometimes I loved it more than attending class. It has changed over the years, but is still an interesting place to visit.
Access for fishing is much improved from the past. Access to a great hiking trail is also available here.

Beautiful area to visit, although it tends to get trash accumulation at times. Good fishing sometimes, but spotty. Great spot to soak up the sights and sounds of nature, especially with the water flowing over the spillway into the river.
