Indian Creek Greenway Trail is an awesome trail for biking. The approximately 17-mile long trail is asphalt-paved and runs on the banks of Indian Creek most of the time. Several community parks go by along the trail. A few spots have some steep hills, and some low spots may be flooded or muddy in wet conditions. It runs most of the time trough woods, but being in urban area, highway noise is not too far off. Pretty elaborate Historical Waymarkers are installed every few miles along the trail.
Indian Creek Greenway is highly popular and used by walkers, runners, and cyclists. It connects up with two other beautiful trails - Blue River Greenway and Tomahawk Creek Greenway.

One of the most relaxing and peaceful walks you can find in south Leawood. Several stopping points near the creek or ponds, and the path is wide enough for multiple people and traffic both ways.

Great for a long or short outing. Great for exercise or for relaxation. Careful planning, development, and maintenance make this a treat for local users or visitors

We enjoy the portion from Leawood through Overland Park. Well maintained, but should be wider or dual lanes for bikes and walkers. Wonderful to walk through nature. Today we saw a young deer very close to us.

This is an excellently maintained green space provided along the creeks that would flood the area if it were not maintained as a greenbelt. Lots of wildlife and flora. I love to ride the trail. I love to walk the trail. Keep a constant vigilance for bikers if you are a walker. If you are a biker, keep a constant watch for walkers who have their dogs on too-long leashes and are unattentive to their off-leash kids. Bikers and hikers just do not see you coming.

We love to take long walks and jump off at key points for a coffee or lunch depending on time of day/weather. Park Shelters and playgrounds dot the vast majority of the route from Metcalf to Mission.

Whenever we are visiting family in Overland Park, I make it a point to walk this path several times. It is a paved path and enjoyable because it winds through the trees, along the creek and is close to the hotel where we normally stay.

I was in town for work staying at the Doubletree Overland Park. The trail is a short walk from the hotel. It was a weekday afternoon and there weren't a lot of people on the trail. It's paved the entire way and the portion I was on relatively flat. As others have said, it's mostly wooded and it goes along the stream. Thoroughly enjoyable and if I lived in the area I would be running here on a regular basis.

Nice trail system to run, walk, or bike. It run along Indian Creek and is a good way to get exercise off the main roads. It can get busy and i would avoid on bike at peak times as alot of people have their pets along with them.

Yes it goes through several parks with playground equipment and fishing ponds but you need to realize the trail is 17 miles long & then connects with Tomahawk Creek Trail for another 15 mile hike, so I have no idea what part of the trail you willbe taking. It is possible to do a 30 mile loop through several suburbs. I know of 5 parks on it.
