This group was wonderful!!! It’s nine blokes in an Ireland pub singing a variety of pop, rock and jazz with a few basic instruments. Their voices are the main wonderful event.
Carlsen Center has events most weekends. They have a variety of styles, and tastes in their presentations and at decent prices, so look at them on the weekend here in the southwest KC suburbs and see what they have.

The Carlson Center presents a wide variety of entertainment, really something for everyone, including classical, rock and jazz music. There are no bad seats for sight or sound. Parking is free and ticket prices are reasonable. We go about once a month. In addition to buying tickets to see familiar artists we often try something unfamiliar because of the venue and confidence from our excellent experiences there.

List is the first event we have attended at the smaller Polsky Theatre. Enjoyed at wonderful evening in an intimate environment listening to a great artist. Amazingly well ran event, everything was perfect. Highly recommend the venue.

JCCC provides us with top notch entertainment in good theaters. Free covered parking and easily accessible- right on College Blvd in Overland Park.

This has become one of our favorite venues in the Kansas City metro area because they have some great shows, it’s usually easy-in and easy out, the prices are reasonable (especially compared to downtown venues), and it’s a nice place. They offer a great variety of arts events including concerts, internationally- and nationally-known artists, as well as some offbeat shows you won’t see anywhere else. There’s almost never any appreciable lines to get in, add-on service fees are low or nonexistent, and they occasionally even offer free shows. Located on the campus of Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kan., Carlsen encompasses two venues: 1,250-seat Yardley Hall, and the more intimate 400-seat Polsky Theatre. Both have comfortable seats and good views from about anywhere in the house. Parking is free and is mostly in twin two-story lots on either side of the front door at the north end of the building, and if you park on the lower level, you can enter underground and don’t even have to go outside. Once or twice when we’ve been there, they’ve had multiple campus events at the same time, and we’ve had to hunt parking further away, but that’s definitely been the exception. Here’s a money saving tip - for the past few years over the Black Friday weekend, the community college has run an online sale where all shows scheduled at Carlsen between January and April are half price. We’ve taken advantage of this not only to buy tickets for ourselves, but also to get some as holiday gifts, and they’ve been very well received. To wrap this up, we unreservedly recommend this venue, and already have tickets for future events!

This isn't a huge venue so I'm not sure if there's a bad seat. The lighting and sound are flawless. The seats are comfortable and there is free parking just outside the door. There appears to be enough restroom capacity as I didn't see lines of women outside of the restroom entrance. The seats and been recently renovated and other improvements made to the facility. There are several concession options in the lobby and elsewhere on the first floor of the building.

This was only our second time attending a show there and the only problem was we had to have our ticket scanned at another entry and then return to our section. The lighting and the sound is quite good and was well suited for both events we have seen there. Both shows were acoustic and vocal groups and very enjoyable.

The Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art is located on the campus of this Community College and is perhaps the finest contemporary art museum we have ever visited. The collection numbers close to 2000 pieces of art. Paintings, sculptures, installations , pottery, etc., etc, The museum has a cafe and gift shop in its modern two story building which I believe has ten galleries, Our favorite piece was a collage titled Les Femmes D Alger. Don't miss it! Admission is free and parking is plentiful. It is located on the western edge of Overland Park, Kansas which is a suburb of Kansas City. Probably a 35/40 minute drive from downtown Kansas City, but well worth the drive.

Yardley Hall at Johnson County Community College is smaller than huge auditoriums for live music, but that's part of what it makes it so nice. The acoustics are good, the lighting is good, the seats are comfortable, and there isn't a bad seat. I've been on the floor in front of the stage, in the balconies, and in the box seats in the balconies. They are all good seats. I found out last night that they will be remodeling over the summer of 2016 and it should be even better for the 2016-2017 season.
