Good wine

We made the lunch and visit program and we loved it.
Dishes very well prepared, with excellent wines to accompany.
The enoteca is very beautiful, with pipes and very old objects.
The garden is fantastic to relax while taking a favaios.

Fabulous full scale experience

Love this winery! A full scale experience in every way - from learning about the wine making process, the terroir, the grapes, the history of the family, tours of the historic rooms - to musical entertainment, excellent wines to drink, amazing food to eat, and stories to be told! The story of the regional wine cooperative was something completely new to me when it comes to wine production, the Adega Cooperativa de Favaios. If you have the chance to visit here, do it! We went as a shore excursion with Celebrity Cruises. The Duoro Valley is one of the most famous wine producing areas in the world and we are so happy we had the chance to explore this small portion of it.

Visit Favaios

Visiting Favaios without drinking a muscatel, eating the famous wheat and enjoying a good time at Quinta da Avessada would lose all its charm. Excellent welcoming service.

This was the main excuse for our trip. Participation in the grape harvest, i.e. Vindim, and learning about the subsequent stages of wine production. After arriving, we could taste one of the drinks of this 160-year-old Quinta. Then we started picking grapes [there was no time or quantity constraint]. We were accompanied by music because that's how it was traditionally done. For those interested, there was a funny experience of trampling the grapes. It takes place in a special pool where the grapes are macerated. Then a local oenologist told us about the entire production process. We could see the equipment and devices used to produce wine. Before lunch, there was an open-air tasting with a wonderful view of the vast vineyards. I wasn't particularly impressed with the traditional dinner. The wines served with dinner were also nothing special. However, the luxurious-looking room and professional service deserve the highest rating. All in all, it was a very good time and an interesting experience.

Great, family trip.

Excellent. Good food, good family outing. Very beautiful place, very friendly and helpful staff. Great tour of the unit and the nearby village, tasting of homemade wine at will.
