This museum is one floor and not very big. The museum is free (donations accepted which we were glad to do) and staffed by volunteers. On our pony express touring I did not want to miss any of them so we stopped. You do have to plan around their limited open hours which I did. This place was difficult to find on the web when you google it. The actually pony express stop was across the street in a hotel which is now gone. The building is old and they have several rooms of displays. Some of it was ok, but what I found interesting were the displays set up with items from the hotel. That was really interesting. They showed a free video at the beginning if you wanted to watch it-set up in a restaged saloon. No heating or ac so keep that in mind but on our trip it was fine. It was worth the stop since it wasn't far out of the way at all. Even if you think you have seen it there is always something interesting and new to see. The Smith hotel was one of the nicer places the riders stopped. We enjoyed it and appreciate the fact that the people in the town are willing to keep it open at no charge to visitors.
