This mansion has been closed to the public and the people of the commonwealth for whom it belongs to. It has been since before covid and continues to do so. This building known as "The People's House" has been permanently closed to the public by the governor. It is both a private home and public building but the citizens of the state of KY are no longer welcome. Remember this when voting!

Did not tour this just drove by it a couple of times. The grounds were amazing. Didn't have time to tour it, but will come back.

I had a great time taking the 30-minute tour. The house is four floors but only the first floor is accessible to the public. The docent covered everything from governor history to the history of the executive mansion itself with sprinklings of facts about the first ladies and artifacts in the residence. It is worth doing if you are near the Capitol and have some time to kill.

The Governor's Mansion is in a lovely setting. The grounds are beautiful as is the mansion. It was not open for touring but it is definitely worth driving by at least.

This building has it all - architectural history and political history. The battleship Kentucky silverware on display is outstanding. Tour guide very knowledgeable. Landscaping is very nice.

The mansion is gorgeous and the history is fascinating. There are limited tours, so call in advance to make a reservation so that you don't miss out. The tour guide was excellent, and we really enjoyed it.

A blast from the past. You should take a stroll down history's lane by touring the Governors Mansion in Frankfort, Ky. The luxurious home in which our past Governors stayed. Beautiful home with high ceilings and the gorgeous flower gardens next door to the Capitol. This is a should see as a Kentucky resident. It is your tax dollars and history. Come see it and enjoy it all.

This is a free tour, and they only let you tour the first floor of this great place. The exterior views of both the Governor's mansion and Capitol make for some wonderful pictures. The tour of the Governor's mansion last about 45. I wish the tour guide hadn't talked about so much backstory. We stayed in the first room longer than we should have. I wish there was more history about the rooms or the past governor's who lived there. If you haven't toured a governor's mansion before then this is a nice stop, and you can't beat the price.

I had read a lot of the reviews about this place and had high expectations and they were definitely exceeded. The mansion is wheelchair accessible and they have a lift on the outside of the house to bring you down to the first floor if you are in a wheelchair. The mansion is beautifully kept up. Our guide did a wonderful job explaining the the background of the mansion and the history of each room. The tour lasts about an hour, and admission is free. You do have to make reservations for a tour, but it is well worth it. Definitely recommend seeing the mansion if you are in the area.
