We hiked the Auxier Ridge... WOW WOW WOW!! MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE TRAIL FOR THE VIEWS!! My advice is to do an in and out. When you get to the metal stairs turn around & go back the way you came. The trails after this are not marked well and it gets confusing. Also not any breathtaking views like ridge. But hey, trudge on or go back... you can't lose either way. You'll see a lot of the arches from a distance on the Ridge but if you want to see them up close you have to take some side trails to get to them. The Auxier Ridge Trail is unbelievable!! Do it!!

This was a fantastic hike, the drive back to the trailhead was great as well. It was a gravel road with pull-offs showing great views of the surrounding mountains.
We started the hike on trail #201 toward Double Arch. Double Arch was fantastic to see, you got to hike all the way up to it and could sit under it. The views through the arch was great and allowed for some awesome pictures. We then continued North onto Aux. Br. Trail #203 which took us to Courthouse Rock. This section of the trail took you down into the valley and had a few small stream crossing. So far most of the hike had been in the shade of the forest which was great since it was a very warm sunny day. Courthouse rock is a very neat group of rock out cropping's which provide great 360 degree views of the surrounding area. This area also allows you to see Double Arch from across the valley. It was quite amazing!
From this point we headed South on the Auxier Ridge trail #204. This section of the hike provides nice ridge side views of the area. Most of this trail is on the ridge top and is in the sun. You hike by campsites and areas that offer great views of the valley and mountains.
Overall this is a great hike that was about 5.5 miles round trip. The hike out to Double Arch was about 2 miles so we decided to do the entire loop and we are glad we did. It is a well maintained trail that is up and down for most of it. There is a large section of aluminum steps at courthouse rock but overall it is a medium difficult hike. We had a 13 year old boy with us and he enjoyed the hike.

I really enjoyed this hike. I am very short while my husband is almost a foot taller than me. He traveled all the trails with ease mainly. I had a little more trouble at times. It was a great day though.

We did the double arch trail, then backtracked to the main trail which we took to courthouse rock and then continuing on with the loop to the car. I recommend going early and on a weekday, we went on a Friday and the parking lot was pretty full by the time we were finished around 12:30. The views were even better than we expected, and the trails were very quiet until the trek from courthouse to the car. We could even see double arch from a lookout south of courthouse rock which was fun! Well worth it. We aren’t the most ambitious hikers so I’d say moderate trail. Total hiking time not including breaks was probably 2 hours 45 mins.

We did the Double Arch trail, then Auxier Branch trail to Courthouse Rock, then took the Auxier Ridge trail back to the parking lot. It was an epic hike. Probably around 7 miles total. Lots of ups and downs and climbing. Took us about 5 hours to complete the loop. Not for the faint of heart. Take plenty of water and snacks. Hiking boots are a must to protect ankles while walking over rocks and tree roots. So beautiful from the vistas looking out from the top of the ridges to the lush, moss-covered terrain in the gorge. It was a long hike but worth it.

Great hike with not too much altitude change and constant panoramic views. Easy-Moderate hike. Would recommend for beginners and experienced hikers just because of the beautiful scenery. Parking is the only thing that can be a little difficult so I would either getting there early or going on a weekday.

Rugged terrain with breathtaking views. Should be physically fit as some parts of the trail are moderately difficult.

We really enjoyed this hike and the waterfall at the end. I believe the water was a bit low when we were there recently, and so I would not consider this a rock slide. A very small kid might enjoy it for a rock slide, but we enjoyed hiking down the river bed and the rock bridge more. The hikes in and out are pretty easy with some incline, but not bad and quite short. So young kids can easily do the hike.

The views from the ridge are beautiful especially in the fall when the leaves are in full color. Many Kodak picture spots along the way.

This is one of the most beautiful views I have seen in a long time. Well worth the hike. Be advised, when I went Tunnel Ridge Road which leads to the trailhead was closed, so I had to hike to the trailhead rather than drive. This added about an extra 3 miles out and back to the hike. Check the state parks website for updated info.
