We had seats in first class and it was a bit cold with the A/C going strong on a hot day (100º). The scenery is really nice and the stop at the ancient bridge is very interesting. It's also a great photo op and the conductors are happy to take your photo with the train or vista. We sat in the open air car on the trip back to the station which was quite nice as well. Highly recommended! Some really cool stuff in the museum also!

To begin with they are only open on Saturdays for train rides as it is a completely volunteer staff. The staff is very friendly and the narration on the train was informative. For $20 for first class in an air conditioned car was more pleasant for us older folks. Although the ride was scenic going over the rolling hills and passing a few horse farms the growth near the tracks obstructed our view at times. Once at the end we were able to get off to see the old trestle bridge that was quite picturesque. The museum was small but had some interesting artifacts and helped pas the time before boarding.

Very pleasant experience. Was not excited about visit but was pleasantly surprised. We rode the hobo car and it was so nice with a great breeze. Make sure to sit on the right side as it was more scenic. End of the line was also neat

The Rail Explorers experience was great. It was our first time riding, and we will do it again in the future.
The team was great from beginning to end.

Road 1st class with grandkids. The seats heavily stained and smelled. Ride coach.
Staff great! Don't expect to hear diverse history segments on the tour. I took a 2 yr and 6 year old it was not worth 67.00 They did enjoy picking out pumpkins and taking pictures.
I chalked it up as a charity donation.

I was a bit underwhelmed. I am a bit tainted though because I have been on other more interactive train rides. That being said, the workers we nice and the gentleman who narrated was very knowledgeable and was easy to listen to.
I appreciate that they are very accommodating to legit service dogs but do not tolerate ill-mannered dogs.

Cool railroad experience! First check out their outdoor trains/rail cars, then stop inside for a great little museum, THEN head on out for the actual train ride! Fun and handicap accessible! Go and enjoy!

When we travel, we concentrate on historic sites and train related things, and this attraction fit the bill perfectly. Easy to find, with more than adequate parking. We were in town for a wedding, so we had only one day to visit and chose the weekend they were having a civil war re-creation. This was unfortunate.
It had rained in the morning, but we had tickets for the afternoon ride and it had cleared off nicely by then. We arrived early and were able to pick up our tickets in the station that has a very nice display, a cute giftshop and great restrooms.
We appreciate the volunteer hours that go into running such an attraction and were impressed with the staff of the railroad itself. There is a limited length of run available of course like on any scenic railroad, and there really wasn't much to see on the route, but the narration was nice. Rolling stock is well maintained and there are a number of parked cars to look at.
We were promised an "encampment" where we could talk to the soldiers. but there was only one tent with a pick up truck parked next to it and not a soldier in sight. Turns out they were riding the first run and weren't back yet. When they did get back there were about a dozen of them. While we took the ride, they wandered up and down the cars trying to engage the passengers, but it turned out to be 2 1/ 2 hours of annoying banter especially by the two ladies. I'm afraid they perpetuated stereotypes of "frontier folk" of the time and it was very unpleasant. We have done civil war reenacting for over 30 years and it can be done informatively and respectfully. I understand the "hobby" is waning, and volunteers are hard to find, but this could have been much better.

We came here to the museum and it was closed. There were no hours of operation posted. We checked their website and did not see hours of operation for the museum either. If there was it was not obvious.
