The Jena Choctaw Pines Casino doesn't pay hardly any amount of returns. Mostly you lose. The buffet is good and Cutter's Bar food is good. the cleaning staff is rude sometimes when you are playing. they will wipe the slit machines while you are playing and they will push the chairs on your feet.

This casino is a very poor payer. It was great when they opened, but now it is a loser. The payouts are low and infrequent. The re-spins are also low and infrequent. You RARELY see a large payout or jackpot. Go to another casino in Marksville (Paragon) or Kinder (Coushatta), each one hour from Alexandria and both pay much better. These folks are greedy.

While at Jena Choctaw Pines casino, I decided to eat at Cutter's, which is the sports bar/grill inside the casino. The food was horrible. No taste at all, I don't even think anything I ordered had even a pinch of salt. They really need to work on their recipes. I ordered two appetizers and an entree. I can't even think of anything good to say about any of it. The server was very nice, which is why I didn't give it a terrible rating, just poor.

First time here. Went on an anniversary road trip. We always make a trip to the LA casinos on this occasion. It was clean & mostly fresh. Decently new games. Did we win? No, but we were able to play on a couple hunerd buck for a few hours. That's pretty typical of LA casinos. You don't EXPECT to win. They don;t build these places on winners. You go with money budgeted for entertainment that you can afford to lose. If you happen to leave with a couple extra bucks, then that's a bonus.
In this context, it's a perfectly fine casino. A bit small, but fine. Clean, but nothing fancy. You don;t go to LA expecting anything fancy or luxurious. It's not Las Vegas. Even the casinos that are billed as being luxurious in LA are nothing like Vegas, so don't complain about the trailer park atmosphere and "tight games" because that is all there is in LA.

Only a "category 2" casino, so small poker room - two tables, and no others. No black jack, three card, etc. Small and smoky. Did tell me that had the loosest slots in Louisiana, but wasn't true for my trip.

Casino is Small, but we still had a nice time. We did not win much on the slots, if any at all! We was visiting friends in Alexandria, La. and decided to come here for the first time. (We only stayed for about 3 hours, though.) I hope the Casino expands the casino at a later time. I would come back and gamble, again, when in Alexandria!

Went for the Christmas buffet and the food was amazing...one of the best buffets I've been to in a long time...and the cost was a mere $15.95 per person and they offered free champagne to go with the meal and kept asking if you wanted another glass...who am I to refuse...I didn't....yum-O !!! If you check out the website you'll find other deals during the week as well...Mondays and Tuesdays are half price days for seniors...and you can read the menu from JD's Harvest Buffet...I'll be going back again for sure..the food was mouth watering good. Did a little gambling afterwards and was surprised to find quite a few penny machines. They also have a free self serve soda pop, iced tea, and coffee station located in a couple of places in the Casino...so you won't go dry and there are servers going around and asking if you want or need anything as well. The people that work there are very friendly and helpful as well....loads of parking is available as well. Fun times !!!
