Ce serait l'endroit le plus bas de la terre. Aussi on s'attend à voir un panneau où figure l'altitude du lieu. Et bien non. Reste un petit musée dont on a très vite fait le tour.

Il luogo è sicuramente suggestivo, infatti nella recensione sulla Grotta di Lot evidenzio l'unicità del luogo (escursione con arrivo a -257m); come Museo, invece è abbastanza insufficiente in quanto ad aspetto e funzionalità e nella norma e di discreto interesse quanto ai reperti che espone, tra cui alcune ceramiche dell'età del Bronzo. Merita comunque una sosta nel viaggio verso Petra

Stopped on our way to aqaba and we shouldn’t have wasted our time or money. It was 2 JOD each despite us having the Jordan pass and we spent about 3 minutes here. Despite the name, this museum has nothing to do with the lowest point on earth. The staff member was super unfriendly and the toilets were too disgusting to even use with overflowing bins and urine dried into the seat. It’s a beautiful building but a shame of the neglect.

Piccolissimo museo, con qualche reperto messo qua e là e con una gestione pessima... non è molto visitato e si vede !

Um zu dem Museum am tiefsten Punkt der Erde zu kommen, fährt man erstmal ein Stück den Berg hoch. Die Ausstellung ist hauptsächlich archäologisch und betrifft die Region des Toten Meeres. Teilweise sind interessante Infos dabei. Alles in allem wäre es aber nicht schlimm gewesen, wenn wir diesen Punkt auf der Tagesordnung ausgelassen hätten. Im Museum ist es schön kühl und hinter dem Museum geht es den Berg zu Lots Höhle hoch. Das haben wir wegen der Hitze und dem Muskelkater vom Vortag allerdings wirklich ausgelassen.

We were driving from Madaba to Aqaba and had Jordan passes so stopped here for a coffee and clean toilet. The coffee was expensive and the toilets weren't clean. The exhibits were mildly interesting but if we hadn't been passing we'd have been very disappointed.

Worth a visit if you also planning to see Lot's Cave or the nearby Sugar Mills (Tawaheen as Sukkar)
The museum has a wide range of artifacts on display presented chronologically from prehistory to Nabataean, Byzantine and Islamic times. Things you won't see anywhere else include a Nabataean burial, material associated with Lot's Cave, painted gravestones which feature the days of the week, and a bronze cauldron used to boil sugar in Medieval times.
There's a small cafe with a few drinks and snacks as well as public bathrooms.

Firstly, the entry is free for those having Jordan pass. Children can enter for free along with adults. Museum is very small but very interesting. Quite basic and rough museum with some interesting artifacts and decent information about history of Dead Sea valley. Can visit if passing by the Dead Sea Highway.

Πριν αντικρύσουμε την Νεκρά θάλασσα στρίβουμε δεξιά να επισκεφτούμε το Μουσείο στο χαμηλότερο σημείο της γης . ( The Lowest Point on Earth Museum ) Ένας ωραίος χώρος παρά το γεγονός ότι είναι μικρός αλλά έχει πράγματα να δεις . Επίσης έχει τουαλέτες και καφετέρια για να κάνουμε ένα διάλειμμα .
Η είσοδος είναι δωρεάν εάν έχετε το Jordan pass αλλιώς κοστίζει 3 δηνάρια ( 3.70 ευρώ ) . Το όνομα του μουσείου αναφέρεται στη γειτνίαση με την νεκρή θάλασσα που βρίσκεται στο χαμηλότερο σημείο κάτω από τη στάθμη της θάλασσας. Το μουσείο έχει ιστορικές συλλογές και έργα τέχνης από πολιτισμούς που ζούσαν γύρω από τη νεκρή θαλάσσια .
Το ίδιο το μουσείο εχει μια μικρή αλλά καλά διατηρημένη συλλογή ευρημάτων που αποκαλύφθηκαν κατά τη διάρκεια διαφόρων ανασκαφών. Πρόκειται για ένα σχετικά νέο μουσείο, το οποίο άνοιξε τον Μάιο του 2012 . Εχει ωραία απεικόνιση ψηφιδωτών και προσπαθούν να διατηρήσουν και μια μούμια 2000 ετών .
Έκθεση για ορισμένα κλωστοϋφαντουργικά προϊόντα που χρονολογούνται πάνω από 1.900 χρόνια.
Διαθέτει επίσης ένα μικρό κατάστημα με αντικείμενα από τοπικό γυναικείο συνεταιρισμό.
Η είσοδος είναι δωρεάν εάν έχετε το Jordan pass αλλιώς κοστίζει 3 δηνάρια ( 3.70 ευρώ ) . First- if you have Jordan pass you don’t have to pay for entrance. Museum is very small but very interesting. I think some bigger museums could be jealous of some items. My 6 years old son was very happy visiting this place because he could see real mummy
