Now here's a exciting place to go and just relax sitting on the rocks looking out at the ocean. Very tranquil place to enjoy an hour or more.

Short scenic walk along a trail behind private homes. Very pretty but highly public. Great spot for photos with beautiful houses and flora.

I dont know what other people are seeing. This is NOT a sight worth seeing..
Very long drive down a slow windy road. Limited parking. Small trail along the coast. Much better places to spend your time.

1/2 mile trail (if that) very close to the Driftwood Inn we stayed at. Fun to see the stairs and the vistas along the way. It was a quick stop.

Baileys Island is such a great place to get away and enjoy the peacefulness. We did a lot of walking and looking at the water. We stayed over two nights and that worked great for us to see the island.

Most Maine coast is gorgeous. I love it all but this very short walk is only for someone passing through with other things to do as well. The three islands traversed to get here a lovely, narrow and have some nice pull offs, the crib stone bridge entering Bailey Island remarkable and the small diner/grocer on the island provided me with a delicious sandwich and bathroom. None of these locations can give a full days attention though, so it is lovely to pass through and see them if you can, but not a destination in themselves. There are many advertisements of places to stay on the islands if you like that type of solitude. Parking for the stair trail is very limited.

Beautiful! A must-see if you're around Bailey Island. If you don't want to do a ton of climbing, that's possible- there is a dirt/gravel trail that you can follow (watch out for poison ivy, though!!) that will give you a wonderful view of the waves crashing onto the rocks. Otherwise, wear sneakers (not flip-flops or you will break one or both ankles) and be prepared to do a bit of climbing and you will be able to spend a good bit of time exploring the rocks and watching the waves. Free parking by the church. It's hard to miss the parking.

My husband and I went to the Islands for a romantic trip and this and Cedar Beach were the highlights. Beautiful, and powerful. Great place to meditate for awhile.

Hard to find parking. Not much of a hike. Pretty but very limited space. Feel bad for the residents surrounding the area.

This was our first introduction to the Maine coastline and Boy! was it impressive! We had fun climbing on the rocks, watching the ducks in the surf and listening to the waves crash on the rocks. We came back at hightide just to see how different the view was. Also it's a pretty ride on Mountain Road to get there.

Sorry, I didn't see your question until now. Giant Stairs is a well traveled narrow pathway with overlooks and a place you may want to scramble on the rocks a bit. While it would be possible to take well mannered dogs on a leash, I wouldn't recommend it.
