My wife and I visited Maine in September of 2019 for our anniversary. Our first stop was Bangor, and we stayed at the Charles Inn(Stayed in the Stephen King room- so much fun! Great place!) and took the Stephen King Tour hosted by Stu. During the tour, we literally stopped at Gerald Winters and Son Book Store and WOW!! It is a Stephen King Fan’s heaven! Anything and everything SK! So cool! Gerald was extremely nice and he’s obviously good friends with Stu too- He even has one of the actual axes from THE SHINING and was so gracious to let us hold it and get pictures with it. If you visit Bangor and especially if you’re an SK fan, make sure to visit Gerald Winters and Son book store! Highly recommend!

This book store doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's the perfect place to find all things Stephen King. I stopped here on a tour, but then visited probably three more times to get books for myself and gifts for friends back home. So worth it. The owner/shop keeper was friendly and great conversation. I would stop here again.

My husband and I took the Stephen King tour and were told about this shop. Immediately after the tour ended we came here and I was in awe! There is a huge collection of signed books, some awesome t-shirts, and the best Pop figurines. Gerald is lovely and very knowledgeable. We even got to hold one of the axes used in The Shining and took pictures with it - a necessary experience for those who love everything horror!

A great store for the ultimate Steven King fan. Several rare or signed copies of his books, several signed original manuscripts, several props from his films as well as t-shirts and other memorabilia for sale.

A MUST stop for Stephen King fans. They have books of all collecting levels to choose from...from new releases to very rare editions. Great selection of t-shirts, posters, and lots of other stuff. They also have some items that were in the filming of his movies. Tough finding parking close by, but well worth the effort.

Popped in as part of the SK tour and was astonished at all the Stephen King books and more available! The owner actually bought the axe from the Shining and will let you take photos with it as well - really cool place and a must for any SK fan 👍🏻

The best bit of the shop is the window which had 2 great displayed - IT and Misery, which were fun. It's not actually obvious this is a shop or open because the door is set back and shut and it's quite dark.
Once you go in, the shop is full of Stephen King related stuff including books and other items. Some books seemed to be extremely expensive though and didn't seem to be in good condition or 1st editions - maybe I missed the point but they just seemed to be 2nd hand books at inflated prices.
It's the kind of shop where you expect to see a real enthusiast but the man running the shop when we visited didn't really seem interested and didn't engage at all. It's a fun shop but it just feels that it could be so much more.

This place is awesome. Memorabilia, books, signed editions, shirts, art, and more. The windows are set up like displays from stories, and Gerald is the coolest dude. He loves what he does and he's super generous with his time and his expertise. You will not be sorry for stopping here!

A "must see" bookstore for any Steven King fan. Loads of first edition books, Tee shirts, hoodies, memorabilia, signed books, posters -- and the proprietor is knowledgable and helpful. We had a blast in this book store and wound up buying much more than we thought we would. Even the quality of the tee shirts is great! You have to see this place for yourself to truly appreciate it. Hard to find because there's not much of a sign outside. Like a hidden treasure.

I wanted to visit Bangor the town of my favorite writer Stephen King when visiting a friend in Maine recently. I was hoping to find a book store with his books when I came across this store specializing in Stephen King books. It has first editions and signed books along with most of his other novels including books written by his family members. I was fortunate enough to purchase a signed first edition Sleeping Beauty recently co-written with his son Owen King. There is also other memorabilia. What a hidden treasure and the store owner is very knowledgeable. This is a must and don't forget to visit Stephen King's home for a picture!! Enjoy.
