我们还没去过教堂大约30年的巧克力。 仍然是我最喜欢的地点在缅因。 内饰装修和这里只能坐300人左右。 隔音效果都是很棒的和是一个很好的座位每个座位,虽然,第一排就是离舞台太恐怖了。 他们有令人印象深刻的各种娱乐活动。 如果你有机会去。

Unique Landmark

This aptly named Chocolate Church is no longer a place of worship, but rather an arts center used for community theater or gallery space or touring theater companies. We weren't able to go inside, but it reminded us of the Victoria Mansion in Portland because it, too, has that chocolate exterior that doesn't stand the test of time very well. Would have loved to see the inside, especially when it was being used as a church

Fading Away into the Dustbins of History

As one of Bath’s prominent landmarks, this edifice did much to define its skyline. Early on a summer weekend morning, the still stately but weatherworn former Congregationalist church (built 1840) was all locked up – just as I’d expect. Free, time-limited parking was curbside on neighborhood streets. An adjacent dirt parking lot discouraged use. The entire church and its outbuildings were painted in a sun-faded, peeling chocolate brown. Colorful stained glass windows were still in place. The grounds of the historic edifice lacked interpretive signs describing its local significance. I liked much that I found here; I only wished the entire place were in a better state of repair.

Excellent Theatrical Venue

This former church has been converted to a community theatre venue for various live events. Lots of fun.

Unique Venue, Great Show

We saw George Winston in concert in late March. This is an all-volunteer-run organization, including the technicians. The production was top shelf. As one previous reviewer noted, the acoustics are nearly perfect in this old, refurbished church.

It can be a little daunting for a person with a walking disability to stand around in line, waiting for the doors to open. The one disability parking space had a covering of snow and ice. Parking is a problem, but that is endemic to the entire City of Bath. There are acres of empty parking lots, but they are all permitted and posted with numerous signs threatening to tow you away if you park there. I found it necessary to drop my companion off, drive back to the motel, and walk back the five blocks to the church.

The director, introducing the show, made a small mistake by claiming that the church, built in 1847, was erected during the Civil War.

There are many more fun shows and top notch artists scheduled for the Chocolate Church this season. Go and discover this gem!

19th Century Gothic Revival church

I love the architecture of this 19th-Century Gothic Revival wooden church, built in the 1840s. It was originally caramel-colored, then painted white, and now it's 'chocolate' (kind of reminds you of a box of assorted chocolates, doesn't it). I'm glad it's being used as an arts and entertainment center instead of vacant or demolished. It's a striking Bath landmark.

Wonderful live music venue

Chocolate Church Arts Center offers splendid acoustics, comfortable seating, and a terrific line-up of entertainment. This week alone brought artists as varied as Darlingside and Schooner Fare to Bath. The website is easy to use as is their ticketing function. The venue offers wine and beer for sale and has a convenient parking lot. Just off Route 1 in Bath, Chocolate Church is easily accessible from Portland, Brunswick and beyond. Bath itself offers a wide range of comfortable accommodation for those who do not wish to drive home after a concert. We already have our tickets for our next concert here!

Assassins The Musical

Recently me and my husband attended a musical at the chocolate church arts center. His co worker Robert Lewis was in the play. The play was funny, loud and full of talent. I loved the show, and the theater. It is so beautiful inside. We will for sure be attending more shows and I recommend you do as well.

Had my concerns about going to community theatre because I regularly attend Broadway Shows and am a bit of a theatre snob, but this show was just delightful! Would certainly try what's being offered!

I love the Chocolate Church and this show was very entertaining with very talented people! There were numerous local talents singing and dancing. I brought a friend with me and we both thoroughly enjoyed this show.

Love this place

We hadn't been to the Chocolate Church in about 30 years. It is still my favorite venue in Maine. The interior has been well restored and it only seats about 300 people. The acoustics are great and every seat is a good seat, although, the first row is awfully close to the stage. They variety of entertainment there is impressive. Go if you get a chance.
