Captain Bob Stanley provided me with a perfect day of sailing and exploring the lovely Maine coast on his comfortable sailboat. I have been sailing for over 65 years and wanted to learn about Maine's coastline which was new to me.
He is a very experienced captain who has sailed these waters for most of his life and studied the marine biology and ecology in detail. He answered all of my questions,, showed me some little-known spots and taught me some sailing techniques that will be helpful in my future sailing trips.
For a friendly trip that provides exactly what you want, I recommend him highly.

Captain Bob was an incredible host and captain! Four of us scheduled this private sailing excursion, in August, for half a day, to celebrate a 65th birthday. The birthday boy has always loved sailing, and was allowed to steer us around looking for wind. Would do this again!

My husband and I visited Booth Bay Harbor for the first time and went for a morning sail on Wind's Will with Cathy and Captain Bob at the helm. Captain Bob is an excellent sailor and knows the harbor very well. We had no wind to mention, but Bob still didn't need the motor. We tootled around the bay under the power of the jib and the current. We loved seeing the harbor seals! Captain Bob was great when dark clouds came up and threatened rain. He calmly got us back to the dock and we were having lunch high and dry by the time the rain poured. Thanks Bob!

We went out with Bob and Kathy, and had a wonderful cruise around the Boothbay and Southport area. Bob was super nice and even taught us some basics about sailing, and was also very knowledgeable about the area and landmarks. They made our Anniversary very special!

You couldn’t ask for a better host than Captain Bob Stanley aboard his sailboat “Wind’s Will”. We took an amazing sunset sail for our annual employee outing. Fun was had by all.
We recommend Midcoast Sailing Company to anyone looking for a great relaxing time on the water.

My mom and I sailed with Captain Bob this week. He took us on a half-day sail around the harbor and we saw several lighthouses in the area (a favorite spot for me). He even let my mom and I take turns sailing. We both highly recommend the company and would come back again the next time in Boothbay.

Checking out all the lighthouses is one of our favorite things to do too. We realize it's been a year, but we're happy to hear you and your mom had such a great time sailing with us -- it was so much fun taking you two around the harbor. Give us a call the next time you're in Boothbay!

My husband and I were lucky enough to sail in Linekin Bay in September, 2016 with Captain Adam and Morgan. They were friendly and welcoming hosts/guides as we cruised the scenic waters on his new boat, a 40 ft. Gulfstar. Our sail lasted from late afternoon until after sunset. Adam invited my husband to take control of the helm, which he did for over an hour, (we were the only guests on board). He was in his glory! This sail will remain one of our most treasured memories. I played the role of photographer and was able to capture beautiful images that can only be gotten while on the water. I recommend bringing a camera and warmer clothes than you would wear on land. We felt like friends invited out for a sail, instead of paying customers - and this made the sail even more special!

It's true -- you can definitely get some pretty unique shots while you're out on the water. We'd love to see some of the photographs that you took! We're happy to hear you and your husband felt like you were sailing with us as friends, not paying customers. While it's been a year, we hope this is still one of your most treasured memories, and we'd love to take you out again soon.

Outside Boothbay Harbor along the coast aboard "Traumerei" a 41 footer. A plentiful breeze with more sail ready to hoist if needed. We all took the helm, what a responsive ship under the watchful eye of Capt'n Adam sailing to the Burnt Is. Lighthouse. We enjoyed the view; looking for sea lions; the views with a breeze in our faces. And the Capt'n: He survived, though body smashed, the sinking of the remake of the ship "Bounty." Has sailed for most of his life up & down the East coast. And now takes time to enjoy the sea with others while doing work designing ships for the US Navy. Then you need to meet his spitfire First Mate and wife Morgan; but that is a review you can write. What a joy and adventure this charter was for us AND our teenager.

We just sailed with Captain Adam for the third time and had a wonderful time. We had great wind for sailing and felt safe and comfortable with Captain Adam at the helm. His boat is clean and spacious. We hope to go again with Adam next year and are counting the days until we can visit Linekin Bay again. This is a wonderful place to sail and enjoy Maine and the beautiful sites Maine offers. Seeing lighthouses, coastal homes, open water and lobster boats with Adam from his boat is much better than photos! beautiful

Third time's the charm! I'm so happy to hear you had a wonderful time sailing with Adam, Lorna. Seeing the lighthouses and everything else from the water is always more beautiful than just looking at a picture. I realize it's been two years since you posted this, but I hope you got to make it out to Linekin Bay again. Can't wait to take you back out on the water.

Beautiful boat. Perfect day. I would recommend Midcoast any time. Our family with two teenagers had an exciting sailboat excursion. Captain Adam is funny, knowledge and made us all feel so welcome. He knows his sailboats, made our non sailing family feel very confident on the water. Boat is beautiful. Scenery incredible. Best day EVER!
