The 1.5 mile hike from the parking area to the coastal trail was pretty but muddy and puddled after a moderate rain the night before, so wear mud ready shoes if going after a rain. The hike in had slight to moderate inclines, a fairly well maintained path with some gnarly roots, small rocks and other "toe grabbers" to be aware of. Not an "Acadia" type trail where it is wide and smooth but not a difficult hike at all if you bring bug spray and know what to expect. Took over an hour to get to the cliffs and then the cliff trail weaved in and out along the ocean bluffs, with many spectacular views of the ocean, cliffs, wave crashing gorges and rocks below. The coastal path is less well maintained with some steeper inclines and rockier parts with lots of tree roots in spots and the path wanders through some fields where tall grasses have grown over the path. If you are not up for the full 5 or 10 mile loop trails, just head back to the parking lot after enjoying some of the cliff trail.

It took about 50 min to do 1.4 miles along the coastal trail to the first scenic overlook. A recent storm made the path pretty muddy and slick. The views were amazing. I heard that we should continue to the first rocky beach but there was no indication how far. We got about half way down to the beach and turned around. It was just too slick and challenging. The trailhead had plenty of parking and a bathroom.

Be sure to wear good hiking shoes as the terrain is a little challenging in spots. We were there in mid May so the black flies were ramping up. Good idea to buy a hat with bug netting. We did and were glad. The trails are well marked and maintained. You will not be disappointed with your time spent here. The views are unbelievable!

I have never seen scenery like I did here. From the mossy covered rocks, to the tree-root staircases, we felt like we were in Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. I wouldn’t have been surprised if the Ents came walking by.

It’s a challenging hike. Watch your step. Lots of rocks, puncheons (wooden boardwalk-type walkways) and tree roots.

Absolutely beautiful!

Decided to drive 6 hours to get away from Massachusetts and get me some nature to cure my Covid Blues! I found this trail back in 2014 by mistake and at that time I only met one other person on it. This time around both parking lots were filled and I parked seven cars down along the street. 1.4 mi into the trail you have a beautiful overlook. Kind of reminds me of looking at the cliffs in California. I decided to go further into the woods to find one of the primitive campsites. Lucky for me I didn't stay at one of the primitive campsites but I was on the edge of one of the cliffs with a view to die for. This was the first time me ever backpacking and setting a tent up at my ripe age of 51. All I can say is if you love nature this is a must do. I watched the sunset and ate breakfast while watching the sunrise. I even had a little furry friend sitting next to me while I was eating breakfast. I will definitely do this trail again with a couple friends of mine after I show them the pictures they definitely want to go.

We had done a quick out and back here a few years ago, and wanted to actually walk some of the coast. It's not a trip for the fainthearted. The shorter loop is about six miles, and, while there's no net elevation gain, there's a lot of scrambling up and down over rocky hills. Most folks were heading out to camp overnight, probably a good choice if you really want to experience the area. The coast has beautiful scenery, and the woods have a lot of small wildlife.

We are Boondockers that connect activities with free campsites. The parking lot serving this trail system was perfect for our one night stop on the way to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. Despite fierce mosquitos around dinner time the early morning hike to the bluffs provided a fantastic wake up to the Sun Rising over the ocean. there are some remote campsites farther along the trail system but our goal was coffee on cliffs with sunrise. The birdsong in the cedar forest was special.

We are not unhappy to have made the hike! We found it challenging with roots, rocks, mud et.al. The view of the ocean is spectacular but not from a cliff as we had suspected. Views are limited depending on your degree of sure footed-ness and balance. The day was beautiful. We really needed the exercise. Wouldn't, however, do it again.

There is a parking lot and a trail along the shore. The view is great and you can see a lot of shore and some boats. I recommend going during the trees changing colors. It was nice.

We did the half loop which was supposed to be about 5 miles. There was a detour that had us practically bushwacking a new trail. There was so much overgrowth that it was nearly impossible to see your feet. The coastal trail was mostly wooded with occasional views from outlooks. On the whole, it ended up being about 7 miles of sweaty grueling hike with occasional peeks at the coast.
