Outdoor music was audible well before I arrived at this rural, family-friendly farm and orchard near ME 100. Parking was in a dirt lot or in a grassy field. Lines were long in the gift shop. Pandemic protocols were in place, but few patrons observed them. Counter service was under-staffed, cold, and efficient. The pumpkin donuts I got after the wait were good, but not great. Early season cider, pre-picked apples, farm-fresh produce, and souvenirs of all kinds were available. Among amenities on the grounds were portable toilets, picnic tables, and a sheltered picnic area. I most enjoyed a walk through the fruit-laden trees in the you-pick orchards; I disliked only the noise of the day’s solo music performer.

We visited Thompson's toward the end of the season. It was easy to find, parking was more than adequate. We were greeted in a friendly manner and staff took time to explain our apple picking options. The trees are easy to pick apples from - great product. The store had great homemade donuts. Great photo opportunities among the trees as well! Nice place to stop!

We stopped by to see what they had to offer. Picked up a few Honeycrisp apples but weren't tempted by the pastry because they all seemed too sugary. The knick-knacks and other odds and ends for sale were okay but a little too 'country' for us. Basic selection of pre-picked apples, lots of pumpkins. In a region where there are tons of beautiful and scenic apple orchards, it was nice but just okay by comparision.

3 families total with kids ranging from 6 months to 8. Friendly staff inside. Make sure to get your donuts! A lot of picnic tables under a tent incase of rain. So much fun!

Stopped in late one day last fall and wondered what might still be available in the greenhouse - wandered in and found JUST the old school, classic garlic chives I'd been looking for everywhere and unable to find. Stopped by a different time once and found "the SECRET" peach trees still bearing the last of that year's fruit. Picked every one I could find and took my MANA up tot the desk for pay for the haul and they WOULD NOT LET ME PAY - said, "End of the year's harvest!! Enjoy!!"...and, BOYYYYOBOY< were they Goooo-ooood!!!
Numerous apple varieties, lots of yummjy baked goods and other "put up" delicacies in the store, and I would also like to add: we bought our Christmas tree from Thompson's this year LITERALLY ON Christmas eve, and it was THE BEST, FATTEST, Hartiest, longest lasting Christmas tree we ever had!

Farm has large pick your own area as well as selling pre-picked. Macs, Coutlands and some Honeycrisps are available. Store also sells delicious goodies and has a great view.

Wonderful orchard and bakery with a gift shop attached that has local crafts. Great donuts, outrageous cider, and it is a busy place. It is a don't miss!

had a great time. delicious donuts. great apples. it's good for the experience ... (not for inexpensive apples. )
cider was the best I had ever had.
Good to support Maine orchards.
A greeter with clearer signage and marked trees would help the navigation a bit. Nice job, Thompson family.

We’ve enjoyed visiting Thompson’s orchard in New Gloucester several times over the years. They have a beautiful apple orchard to pick from and a store on site to purchase goodies. They make their own donuts and have cider, which is delicious! Their apple dumplings with ice cream is absolutely amazing! I also recommend the horse drawn carriage ride while you’re there. You’ll need cash to go on it, so plan ahead.
