Beautiful views. Great photo opps. BUT remember the bug spray as we were almost eaten alive by mosquitos!!! and had to cut our walk short.

We stayed right next to the Rachel Carson preserve which made it pretty easy access. While some folks intentionally stop to go for a low tide hike on the rocks, I would only go here if it was part of a convenient stop. It's beautiful but there are the rocks and the sea and sights you can see in much of this area of Maine.

We had the place to ourselves on a weekday low tide trip. We didn't see much but enjoyed the nature and view.

I wish I could say this is a great tide pool, but as a marine ecologist who loves marine organisms, it was frustrating to visit. There weren't many organisms to see and it was pretty obvious why--as I watched a kid picking up and chucking rocks around in the tidepools, oblivious to the organisms he was moving around or crushing upon impact. Worse, his parents were paying no attention to his destruction, and lots of others were doing the same sorts of things. I went over and explained to the family how their actions impacted the environment there, and they were interested and the kid stopped just chucking rocks, but clearly too many people have visited, flipped rocks over and left their undersides exposed, and moved things to tidal heights that aren't appropriate. So, there are some small crabs and shells, but not a great amount of life. Certainly not the plethora of life Rachel Carson wrote about. Still, there is something to be said for being at Rachel's tide pools, and since the damage is done and tourists are going to visit here no matter what, maybe it is best if one or two spots are massively over-used and the other places are left much more pristine to be seen by those who will be more careful. If you go, please carefully turn over rocks and then turn them back to their original orientation in the original spots. This will allow the organisms to survive!

We went by at low tide to photograph this preserve. We found the remains of clams and mussels, and saw many sea snails on the different rocks in the pond. Along crawled a small crab who scuttled away -- he must have seen or heard us -- but was such fun to watch!

After a satisfying lobster roll and corn-on-the-cob in New Harbor, we happened upon this historic Salt Pond. Saw the instant-of-birth of small tidal creatures in tidal pools, some sort of crabs scurrying in and out of crevices, larger species feeding offshore. After some time, felt a great sense of wonder, and the diversity of life, at the Edge of the Sea.

Minimal site with interest to naturalists. View the rocks and sea as they move with the tide, so you have to see the preserve at different times

Went here with my tween granddaughters. It was low tide so there was access to the tide pools. The seaweed was very slippery so you need to be supper careful. We climbed on the rocks and that was fun. Not crouded, but I think it was because there wasn't much to do. Little Children should be very careful there.

Safe roadside parking (rare on Route 32 in that area); good views, lots of rocks for you collectors. Wonderful views of Long Cove.
