Took a lighthouse boat tour, had lunch on the deck, shopped in the small business shops. What a quaint little village.

Parking is very limited at Perkins Cove, so if you don't get there early during tourist season or you're not a walker, you're out of luck. Some of the restaurants and gift shops are very good, like Perkins Cove Candies and Jack's Too Restaurant, and the views are great. I've been going here for decades, and one of my favorite parts of Perkins Cove is the iconic draw bridge.

Fortunately, or unFortunately we stopped here during a cold rainy day in April. It was nice walking around and checking things out, and especially the pedestrian drawbridge. There was a nice shop near the bridge selling lobsters so we bought a couple to eat back at our rental. Nice place to visit if you can.

A fun place to visit for the afternoon. You can visit some of the local shops and stop at a couple local bars for a light lunch or some good sightseeing

I really like Ocgunquit and this cove seems like its epitome to me. Picturesque and yes sweet. Very photogenic.

We walked Marginal Way and ended in Perkins Cove, The view was spectacular! We had lunch in Perkins Cove and visited all the shops. Was a great experience.

Great place to shop, visit and take in the New England flavors. Marginal Way begins here, awesome ocean views, wife loves the shops, watch the lobster boats come and go and one mile from downtown Ogunquit. Only a half hour or so north of Portsmouth N.H. Can't be beat.

Quaint village, picturesque bridge and fishing boats! Everything you expect to see in New England! Beautiful place to visit. Go there early to grab free 2 hour parking and avoid the crowds.

Great place to see lobstermen bringing in their daily fresh catch! Great little shops, restaurants and able to walk the Marginal Way above the ocean!!

If you like seaside shopping, dining and mild walks, this is the place. It is beautiful, with lots of things to see. Be prepared to go early to get good parking, or park a bit further for a little less money. But even the farthest parking is only a 5 minute walk.

It starts in the parking lot across from Barnicle Billy’s and goes to before you get to the business district where the road to go down to the beach is. If you are starting from that end, walk a little way out of the business area in the main road and you will see a small sign indicating access to the trail. Have fun!😊

There,a. Zoo on US 1 in York. Kittery Trading Post is like Bass Pro or Cabela's. Old Orchard Beach has amusement park. Lots of beaches all along coast. Yummy 's candy store on U S 1 in York - advertise 10,000 lbs of candy.

I THINK that some would be closed by then but we have not been there that late in the year for a long time. We usually go in September after the schools open and most, if not all, are still open then.

After Labor Day things start to wind down at Perkins Cove. If you have some specific shops you want to visit, I'd check on line to see if they're open and what their hours are. I've never gone to Perkins Cove after Labor Day - I'm thinking that if the weather is nice, it might be a good time to visit. It does get cold and sometimes windy there where it's right on the ocean.

Am going to be in the Perkins Cove area on Sunday, April 29th. Will the shops in Perkins Cove be open? I have read that some do not open until May. I would be disappointed to visit if all the shops are closed. Would appreciate any information.

If the weather is forecast to be good, many owners get a jump on the season. It is a short season so any extra days mean money in the owner's pocket. Most of the shopowner's have websites so try communicating prior to arrival. If you are staying at a hotel, they will also know the local information. Perkins Cove has some restaurants that are open on the weekend in the early season, but not during the week. They all have websites and season updates. So it is possible to get some idea of available locations prior to arrival.

There is a shuttle (purple line) that runs from Perkins Cove to Short Sands beach. You would either then walk to Long Sands or take a transfer to the York trolley.
