When we got to the gallery, it was just at opening time but no one was there so we called the number listed on the door and Peter Ralston was there within three minutes. He was very informative, excited to share his works and his stories about growing up next to Andrew Wyeth and the impact that had on his life. He has lots of his work on display and was very friendly.

Beautiful photos of Maine coast and islands. Also of Andrew Wyeth and family. Peter Ralston very nice person and willing to talk about photos and area.

It had been four plus years since we last stopped into Peter's Gallery in Rockport Maine. We had purchased several of his prints at that time and we wanted to share his exquisite work with our friends who were traveling with us. We had met Peter's wife Terri during our earlier visit and she was wonderful and fully engaged in Peter's work. On this visit we arrived late in the afternoon and were greeted by Peter. Hours later and after many a story about his work, the story behind the story and many a laugh, we departed his gallery with several new pieces in our possession. This gallery is a gem and Peter's work is extraordinary. To say he captures the spirit of the Maine coast would be greatly understating the power of his images. This stop turned into one of the most rewarding memories of a trip filled with many wonderful experiences. If you have the time and interest in seeing the beauty and power of the Maine seacoast, this is a must stop. Thank you Peter!!

Peter's photos of the Maine Coast capture its essence. His images from the Arctic are also stunning. Should Peter be in the gallery when you visit, he can regale you with many stories. He has also been a friend and caring photographer of the Wyeth's over time. Peter also was a co-founder of the Island Institute. This gallery is definitely worth the time to explore in detail. It is a special place.

A trip to The Ralston Gallery is a trip around Maine. The exquisite photographs are unique and mesmerizing. To add to this, the photographer and his wife are friendly and full of information about the area and where the photos were taken. A Must See in this quaint town!

Peter Ralston is a world class fine art photographer, and his gallery shop is worth devoting some time to, even if just to browse. If Peter is in, you will likely be treated to fascinating conversation about his work, as well as his curated representation of Wyeth art. There is a great selection of print sizes, and corresponding pricing - something for almost everyone.

Peter Ralston is an extraordinary photographer and co-founder of the Island Institute. His photographs, mostly of scenes in Maine are exceptional. He also has a series of arctic photos on display. His portraits of Andrew Wyeth are striking. If Peter is in the gallery, he is a great conversationist willing to share stories about his photographs and what he was trying to accomplish with them. He will also share stories of the people and places he has been. The Farnsworth had a special exhibit of photos related to the Olson House. The two from Peter taken after Andrew Wyeth's death are stunning and moving. Andrew had introduced Peter to Maine.
