My family and I have been coming to the Round Pond Art Gallery and Shoppe for 18 years and I never get tired of it. The store part is run by a charming woman (who I believe is South African) named Sheila, who despite just celebrating her 90th birthday is full of energy and has a good knack for remembering returning customers. (Her husband runs the Gallery next to the store and has some of his art featured there though I've never actually met him.) Sheila and her husband spend the year traveling the world then return to Maine each summer to show and sell all the things they have collected this time around the globe. Her store carries everything from jewelry to clothes to art to toys. Even as a kid I loved it - so its a good excursion for the whole family.The store is tiny with many items so you can just pop in or stay all day. It is a bit hit or miss - sometimes we find rare handpainted valuable art, sometimes we find cute little rings that will likely turn our fingers green, but it's still fun to stop in and say hello and enjoy the wares.

When Sheila returns each summer you never know what she might have brought back for the shop from her world travels. One of my favorite pieces I purchased there was an antique from East Timor. Definitely a fun stop when in Round Pond, unexpected and unique.

Eclectic, quirky, a surprisingly eccentric holdover redolent of the 60s and flower power. The gallery has terrific work by the artist Anthony Jackovich.

Sheila owns and operates the Round Pond Gallery. Much of her items come from far away. See the wooden adult and fledgling seagulls and take one home....they will be a huge hit!

Stopped there because we stayed in Round Pond years ago. We were expecting more local

Thank you for your response. We do have an art gallery of local pieces...Yes, the part of this establishment are imports from Southeast Asia. Sorry to see that you didn't enter the door to the left for the art gallery that features local artist, Anthony Jackovich as well as other artists in which you would have enjoyed some wonderful local one of kind art work. Please come visit us again and make sure to check it out and we will try and make sure the we have well lit markings specifically for the art gallery. Thank you.

Good place to stop and eat so real ice cream. We stop there many times during vacation. Cool little store inside.
