Helpful staff beautiful view

The building is a fun architectural design. I enjoyed the exhibits in the building. The staff was very nice. It was nice to be able to go outside and stand on the waterfront. There is also a cool mural on the back of the building.

What a wonderful place

So glad I walked all the way around the beautiful park because I thought it was closed at first. Wonderful facility. Stop 1 on a history tour and a wealth of knowledge about the area!! So so glad I stopped. Hidden gems everywhere in this county!

Fun for the whole family

Sailwinds is a perfect stop for any family traveling through Cambridge. There is a wide variety of playground equipment between the visitors center and the shore, beautiful and educational exhibits in the visitors center and a lovely walking trail along the shoreline.

First stop for visitors

Recommended first stop for first time visitors to Cambridge, Dorchester County. Plenty of brochures with maps and recommended walks with points of historical interest. Be sure to check out the mural on the outside of the building!

Great place for families

This visitor center is pretty amazing. There's a small beach our kids had a blast playing on, and the playground was perfect for tiring them out! The bathrooms were very clean as well.

Beautiful visitor center; great introduction to Harriet Tubman Byway

The folks here are very helpful in providing information on the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway. The visitor center is in a perfect location with easy access from Route 50. They have all the brochures you can possibly want on Cambridge and the surrounding towns as well as Harriet Tubman historical sites.

Quiet Walk next to the Water

You can spend as little or as much time as you desire...
There is a path that leads to the marshes...I can't comment on that (I had a dog with me that was not allowed)
The dog was allowed to walk around the park (on lead), and we did. It was mid-September so it was hot...there are benches under the shade trees and that along with the breeze off the water made it almost comfortable...
It's tucked away in a small neighborhood, but fairly easy to find. There was a new art sculpture (ALOT of little fish that formed a very Large Fish, appeared to be made out of stainless steel) Vey beautiful! Not familiar with the artist, but again very tasteful, appropriate and Beautiful! This was a nice stop on our way back from a local restaurant...

Make it your first stop in Cambridge

Striking architecture along the Choptank River. Offers a lot of brochures and information about Cambridge. Attractive grounds surround the visitor center. You need to get a key to use the restroom.

Beautiful setting along the Choptank River

The visitor center is very nice and has great information and exhibits of the Cambridge area. It is a two story building with nice décor and friendly staff inside. The restrooms are very clean and the scenery outside of the center is amazing.
