This is really a great find if u have small children , lots of fun things to do in a very compact area. There is a scavenger hunt with all the old things in the museum with the history of Gaithersburg all over the museum and a great caboose for the kids with toy trains and dress ups and books and toys and lots of fun things to do and another train car as well to explore and there is a great coffee shop right next door in the old train station and a BIG play park across the parking lot , So a fun activity for the kids of all ages.

There is really something for everyone here - kids, history buffs, train aficionados. It’s remarkable how they packed so much into a relatively small place. Easily 30-45 minutes of things to do and look at.

Small museum highlighting the rail road history of the town as a suburb of DC. Contains authentic artifacts of trains . Two cars reastored . Offers educational visits for schools. Well maintained.

This site was well displayed for a small footprint. Unfortunately we were too early to enter the museum but are sure it would have been worth the look. The engine and cars on display were worth the stop.

This is a nice free place to visit, with or without kids. Educational and relaxing. Its not much, but its not bad either.

My son is into trains and seeing one if a real size that you can hop on to and touch was super special. Great stop!

It's a small community museum, so perhaps I should rate it on a relative scale. However, I still can't help but rate it as simple "average." The staff were very friendly, and they had some kid-friendly activities. But, in the end, we couldn't spend more than about 30 minutes there because there just wasn't that much to do or see. It's worth a visit, but don't be surprised if it's a fairly short visit. Enjoy it for what it is, and it will be a good time.

My grandfather once caught the train from this train station and traveled to DC everyday for work. Lots of history. much to see and learn. I grew up in this town and have seen so much change over the years. All around town there is so much to see and do. Don't miss Bohrer Park.

great food all around, but the sad thing is they no longer serve the banana cream pudding..cold drinks are always very cold..noisy iduring the evening rush, but that just adds more fun people watching..

Small facility, but has a great old locomotive and cars, plus an exhibit. Parking is tight in the small commuter lot. Interesting side-note: this is one of several RR crossings in County that are at street level...considering this is about 20 miles from the DC-line....the Nation's Capital.
